Tea Party, Freedom Works, Pro-Life Patriots MUST JETTISON the SLAVERY of Tax-Exempt Status !!!

The 2012 election saw Obama and Eric Holder's IRS "Gestapo Thugs" successfully violate the Constitutional Rights of politically conservative Americans such as the Tea Party, et al.

I for one am shocked that American Conservative Political groups such as the Tea Party, Judicial Watch, Freedom Works, the NRA, and Pro-Life ...

INSIST on remaining "tax-exempt" organizations under IRS 501 C-4 (et al).

WHY - WHY - WHY ... is this happening ???

Why do these Patriotic Groups insist on remaining SLAVES to Obama's "IRS Gestapo Thugs" ?

"IF" ... these American Political Groups JETTISONED their (marginally valuable) federal tax-exempt status ...

they could NEVER-NEVER-NEVER be compelled to "bow down slavishly" to ANY of Obama's "IRS Gestapo Thugs".

That point bears repeating, a thousand times, maybe a million times.

"IF" ... these American Political Groups JETTISONED their (marginally valuable) federal tax-exempt status ... they could NEVER-NEVER-NEVER be compelled to "bow down slavishly" to ANY of Obama's "IRS Gestapo Thugs".

===================================

What will it take for this to happen ?

Courage ... the "same" Courage that Gen. George Washington exhibited with his Christmas victory at the Battle of Trenton in 1776.

===================================

After this Stalinesque scandal was discovered (or perhaps leaked in political intimidation purposes) ...

U.S. Congressional conservatives (Issa, Gowdy, etc) raised political hell about the scandal, the kind only Hitler and Stalin would enjoy ...

and conservatives everywhere "howled and wailed and rent their clothes" over Obama and Eric Holder's defecation upon the U.S. Constitution.

Despite identifying specific IRS "Gestapo Thugs" like Lois Lerner, NOTHING really happened.

Lois Lerner, for example, left government service with her Nazi head held high ... probably headed for a financially lucrative "consulting position" with some upper echelon Democratic Party fund raiser.

And Obama and Eric Holder probably laugh in derision at Darryl Issa and Trey Gowdy, along with Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

In 2013, the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) revealed that it had targeted political groups applying for tax-exempt status for closer scrutiny based on their names or political themes.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation began investigating the IRS's actions as part of a criminal probe ordered by United States Attorney General Eric Holder.

This led to both political and public condemnation of the agency and triggered further investigations.

Initial reports had described the targeting as nearly exclusively on conservative groups with terms such as "Tea Party" in their names. Further investigation revealed that certain terms and themes in the applications of liberal-leaning groups and the Occupy movement had also triggered additional scrutiny, but at a much lower rate.

The use of target lists continued through May 2013.

The Coalition for Life of Iowa, a pro-life group, was asked to "Please explain how all of your activities, including the prayer meetings held outside of Planned Parenthood are considered educational as defined under 501(c)(3).

Organizations exempt under 501(c)(3) may present opinions with scientific or medical facts. Please explain in detail the activities at these prayer meetings.

Also, please provide the percentage of time your group spends on prayer groups as compared with other activities of the organization."[63]

While questioning then-Acting Commissioner of the IRS, Steven T. Miller, on May 17, 2013, Congressman Aaron Schock (R-IL), referring to a report by the conservative, non-profit law firm, the Thomas More Society, misquoted one of the questions asked of the coalition as "please detail the content of the members of your organization's prayers".

Schock went on to ask, "Would that be an inappropriate question to a 501(c)3 applicant? The content of one’s prayers?” Miller replied, "It pains me to say I can’t speak to that one either". Upon further questioning by Schock, Miller stated that it would "surprise him" if that question were asked.[65] Schock's characterization of the question was included in news reports and was repeated by conservative commentators.

Another question asked of some unidentified applicants was:

Provide the following information for the income you received and raised for the years from inception to the present. Also, provide the same information for the income you expect to receive and raise for 2012, 2013, and 2014.

a. Donations, contributions, and grant income for each year, which includes the following information:

1. The names of the donors, contributors, and grantors. If the donor, contributor, or grantor has run or will run for a public office, identify the office. If not, please confirm by answering this question “No.”

2. The amounts of each of the donations, contributions, and grants and the dates you received them.

3. How did you use these donations, contributions, and grants? Provide the details. If you did not receive or do not expect to receive any donation, contribution, and grant income, please confirm by answering “None received” and/or “None expected.”

The Tennessee organization Linchpins of Liberty, which mentored high school and college students, was asked the following:

23. Has any person or organization provided educational services to you? If yes, provide the following:

a) The name of the person or organization.

b) A full description of the services provided.

c) The political affiliation of the person or organization.

24. Provide all details regarding training you have provided or will provide. Indicate who has received or will receive the training and provide copies of the training material.

Another unidentified applicant was asked to "Please provide copies of all your current web pages, including your Blog posts. Please provide copies of all of your newsletters, bulletins, flyers, newsletters or any other media or literature you have disseminated to your members or others. Please provide copies of stories and articles that have been published about you.”[

Why do these Patriotic Groups insist on remaining SLAVES to Obama's "IRS Gestapo Thugs" ?

Because they barely get by on small grass-roots donations from - which the IRS considers taxable income. They have to be tax-exempt or else they fold.

Because they, AND their donors, would be audited every day of the week.

Perhaps larger donors might be audited by "Obama's IRS Gestapo Thugs" ...

but the IRS could NEVER get away with auditing 10 million Americans (or more) at the same time ...

Here, here.
Why is there ever ANY tax exempt organization? Or subsidy? If it's not employees, property, equipment, fuel or utility, why is government money being spent on it. Just vote buying is all there is too it or trying to force behavior thought up from some egghead who probably never held a real job and certainly never had to make a payroll. We have allowed the statesmen to be replaced by a permanent political class. The founders would be horrified.

If your organization is so all fired important and popular, why do you need a government handout? If your members won't support you, maybe the problem's your organization. Are you based on the same principles as when you first started? Examine your owner motives. Reevaluate your effectiveness.

Perhaps the point to make is this:

If "John Doe" (a ficticious American Tea Party member) donates $ 100 to a candidate Matt Bevin, Ben Sasse, the NRA, Tea Party (etc) ...

"exactly" how much does that REALLY ADD to "John Doe's" Federal Income Tax Refund ???

The answer is ALMOST NOTHING.

So ... WHY-WHY-WHY ... surrender FREEDOM from Obama's IRS Gestapo for such a pittance ?

Can’t disagree with the analysis. When you have to go to the government for ‘permission’ it can always be denied or changed. They get to define the rules (e.g.. what is marriage).

Tax exemption for not only political groups but churches has always had an onerous smell to it.

The smaller the donor, the bigger the intimidation. There would be a money freeze that would make the Antarctic look warm.

You're absolutely correct ...

especially the "spiritual stench" from tax-exempt churches ...

who receive their "30 pieces of moral-political hush money" from the government ...

"bribery" at it's absolute BEST.

I have to admit, the same thoughts were going through my mind for the entire duration of the IRS hearings. Put ‘em up against the wall...and then slap their hands, is how the whole thing finally developed and “resolved”.In addition to the points being made in this post, any IRS hearings should have effortlessly flowed out to encompass the million OTHER gripes the American people have against this Agency ,and have had for as long as I can remember——the Tea Party sabotage should rightly have been the STARTING point.

Justification for tax exempt organiztions
Tax exempt organizations collect relatively small donations from individuals (taxpayers who have paid tax on those donations). They then use those donations to “speak” on behalf of those individuals by purchasing TV, radio, print exposure, or other means of getting their message out. This allows the “little” and sometimes the “big” guy to engage in free speech that otherwise would be unavailable to him. Taxing the organization would result in double taxation which really wealthy individuals avoid by directly purchasing the media exposure. It gives the little guy an equal voice ($ for $) since his donation is not taxed twice.

Another way to look at it. A rich guy earns 250,000 and pays tax of 100,000 then buys an add for “xyz” from a TV station. 1500 poor folks earn 125 each pay tax of 25 and donate 100 each to an organization that is not tax exempt. They have income of 150,000. They can not purchase an add against “xyz” because the organization must pay tax on that income. Even though the organization represents 1500 individuals it can not compete with the one guy who can afford to purchase the add himself. That is the basic justification for tax exempt organizations. Tax payers money is NOT being spent on them.

There are many that flourish and would continue to do so w/o tax exempt status.
