Rich People Leaving California for Mysterious Reason
Frontpage Mag ^ | 1/15/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

It’s okay, the 1 percent only pays 41 percent of California’s income taxes. And half the state pays no income tax at all. No one will even notice they’re gone.

Prop. 30, approved by voters in November 2012, raised state income taxes retroactively to Jan. 1, 2012, on singles making more than $250,000 and married couples making $500,000. It raised rates by one, two or three percentage points through 2018, bringing the top rate on incomes above $1 million to 13.3 percent, the highest in the nation.

Bryan Goldberg, who founded the Bleacher Report sports website and sold it to Turner Broadcasting for about $200 million in mid-2012, is moving his primary residence from San Francisco to New York this year. A major reason, he says, is Prop. 30 and the way it was applied retroactively.

If you’re one of the freeloaders not to worry. Your welfare check is grossed up to cover those annoying little taxes. The freeloaders are reimbursed for the taxes they inadvertently pay.

It’s absolutely despicable that bottom-feeding freeloaders who don’t pay a penny in taxes can vote to force those who bust their asses going to work everyday should pay more taxes. Those people aren’t Americans. They’re lowlife commie scum.

That's democracy for you. Two wolves and a sheep voting what's for dinner.

I have a friend who owns a business in California.
I have quietly stopped buying things he sells as I don’t want to support the government there through his income taxes.

Unfortunately he is pretty far left politically he doesn’t see what is happening to him and his family.

The mystery is why I am still here.

Well, 72 and sunny today. Redwoods and hiking in backcountry parts of Santa Clara only 15 minutes up the road. Beach is an hour away. Spectacular snow skiing 5 hours away as is Yosemite. Fresh fruit and vegetables year round.

There are downsides, of course. We are entering Year 3 of severe drought, all the hills are parched, the reservoirs are empty, and it looks like we are going to have to learn Chinese because of all the money and buyers gushing in from Beijing, Taipei, and Hong Kong.

***Bryan Goldberg,...is moving his primary residence from San Francisco to New York this year. A major reason, he says, is Prop. 30 and the way it was applied retroactively.***

Methinks Mr. Goldberg is in for a rude awakening. I suggest he do a simple background check on the newly minted mayor, and what he plans for the ‘rich’ who reside in the Big Apple. And if Bryan intends on escaping to upstate NY, Gov Cuomo is a card carrying nazi as well.

Wow. You really are reaching new levels of stupid. I was critical of Palin for endorsing your liberal governor and for endorsing RINO John McCain. But I agree with her and Cruz on most issues. In fact, I am a big supporter of Cruz. I was 100% behind Ted when your fellow La Raza Rick supporters were behind Dewhurst. And, unlike you, your search will not find no history of me ever having defended fraudulent conservative politicians like Perry or defending his history of pro-ILLEGAL alien policies, nor will it find that I have ever bashed Texas. I have criticized its liberal leaders and liberals like you who defend them.

85 here today. Same yesterday. But with the high taxes, high cost of living, surrounded by liberal kooks and the fact that the state is run by tax and spend liberals, the bad by far outweighs the good the good weather.

lol! I’m not protesting at all. I merely pointed out the false nature of your accusations. From bashing the state of Texas to not supporting Palin or Cruz, I have proved you wrong on every count. If you possessed even a scintilla of common sense you would realize that.

I escaped to Arizona in July. I’m in OC this week on business, there isn’t a thing I miss about it. Can’t wait to go home.

You also think Perry is a conservative.

What you "think" is what makes you a joke.

You obviously feel compelled to get the last word, even if it means repeating yourself. I have no interest in that, so have at it. I won't be reading it or responding to it. I've proved you wrong and that's good enough for me.

Bye.

And to think just 30 years ago California was truly the golden state and an economic powerhouse in its own right. Now it’s turning into a third world craphole with the producers leaving in a hurry and idiot legislators in Sacramento spending the state into oblivion. Everything the left touches it turns to garbage. California is a true blue state and because of that it is a true blue economic catastrophe.

78 here further south in CA...Flowers blooming and the vegetable garden and Orange trees are doing quite well..Growing food year round, wearing shorts and BBQing and playing golf in the dead of winter and year round, has it's pluses...Not to mention the salt and fresh water fishing, the mountains, beaches and desert and a whole lot of stuff to do, are all within an hour or so.

Living behind enemy lines has many great points. In fact those points are worth a small fortune to us.
