Bye-Bye Boehner… GOP Speakership On the Line Over Immigration Plans
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 1-6-2014 | Jim Hoft

Republican members of Congress are speaking out about replacing John Boehner as Speaker of the House. And, they’re not shy about it.

Republican Boehner wants to push forward on immigration reform this year despite the risk of alienating the GOP base. The Washington Times reported:

Rep. Raul Labrador said House Speaker John Boehner should lose his leadership post if he pushes forward with immigration reform this year, CQ Roll Call reported.

“I think it should cost him his speakership,” Mr. Labrador, Idaho Republican, said in an interview with the Capitol Hill news organization.

Mr. Labrador also refused to rule out running to replace Mr. Boehner — even if the Ohio Republican put the brakes on immigration bills.

“There is a hunger in the conference for bold, visionary leaders, and this is not just conservatives — you talk to more middle-of-the-road members of the conference, they’re kind of frustrated with the direction of this leadership, and they’re looking for ways to change that,” he told CQ Roll Call.

Mr. Boehner said Tuesday that he is not sure whether he will pursue immigration bills this year, days after House leaders outlined their principles at an annual GOP retreat that included border security and legalization for most illegal immigrants. The plan also included a specific new pathway for younger illegal immigrants.

So what is it, Boehner, that “they” have on you that would cause you to be so obsessed over this issue, esp one that alienates your base?

One guy isn't a groundswell, but Boehner has DC disease. It makes people want to do as much as they can against the will of the citizens and harm as many citizens as they can along the way.

I hope Labrador has many allies.

If this is your congressman’s idea of a “leader,” your congressman should be fired in the primary. Every congressman should be asked if he supports Boehner for Speaker in the next congress. That should be an easy “yes” or “no” question.

I’m afraid we are too RINO heavy in the House for Boehner to sweat too much over this threat. Sad, but that is the case.

servo1969: “I think it should cost him his speakership,”

The speaker of the House should demonsrate leadership
I havene't seen any leadership from the House
nor from the 'empty chair' in the Spite House.

Think of what the HOR Republicans could accomplish if they didn't have to constantly fight for their base to stop the invasion of the US.

Oh, I almost forgot. They couldn't find the 17 votes to stop Boehner from being Speaker this session? They should find a way to get rid of him as Speaker now. If they do that, we can more easily identify the backstabbers now. JMHO

“I think it should cost him his speakership,”

That’s part of the problem: “I think it should” is an opinion which means NOTHING.

Anyone with a set of balls would state: Boehner no longer represents the American people who elected him, does not represent the leadership qualities demanded by the House GOP and we will be voting shortly to revoke his speakership position and replacing him.

"I hope Labrador has many allies."

Just a bit further down...

“There is a hunger in the conference for bold, visionary leaders, and this is not just conservatives — you talk to more middle-of-the-road members of the conference, they’re kind of frustrated with the direction of this leadership, and they’re looking for ways to change that,” he told CQ Roll Call."

Only ten members were willing to oppose him at the beginning of this session of Congress like Massie of Kentucky, Amash of Michigan and Stockman of Texas.

SINCE WE ARE 209 SEATS SHORT OF A GENUINE CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY IN OPINION BECAUSE OF THAT, WHAT IS THERE TO CHEER ABOUT.

They’ll replace him with another RINO like Cantor of Ryan.

Caught playing footsie with John Roberts in a men's room stall, no doubt.

I received an email survey from Bonehead last week. The final question was "what do you think is the most important problem facing the US today?". Of the multiple choice answers, I selected "protect our borders". I did not contribute to Boehner's fund. A few days later, I received an email with a title like "You've spoken. The main priority for the GOP is 'more jobs'!"

I wonder if that was really what he heard from voters. I knew he would bever admit it if the responders had selected border security as I did. I wonder if he can connect the lack of jobs for Americans with an influx of cheap illiterate workers from south of the border? I clicked on unsubscribe and I hope I don't get any more unsolicited email from this loser. I hope he loses his speakership. But he'll probably be replaced with his twin Cantor.

“Don’t Cry For Me” ArgenBoner. Even if he’s stripped of the Speaker-ship this minute, his life is all secured and set. Why does he care?

Unlike mine (or yours).

Exactly. Nobody in his leadership position could be as weak as he is UNLESS they were compromised. Obama’s got something good on Boehner and he dances to Obama’s tune. Its so obvious by now.
