There’s a very simple way to not break up families by deportation: deport the entire family. Problem solved.

Wow. Democrats murder little Catholics in the womb and they vote for them. Between them and jews voting for a known anti semitic dangerous islamist nd terror supporter narcissist like Obama, people have lost their marbles.

If we pay, we represent the children, not the parents. It is how jews did it in the OT, take the children away from the heathens.

Many Catholics in Chicago are addicted to the Democratic Party the same way a Hollywood actor may be addicted to heroin. For some, this addiction is so strong that it may be said, to turn a phrase, that the Catholic Church in Chicago is the Democratic Party at prayer. ping......

Here we go again blame the Catholics for voting for the RATS.
Yes there are Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims and Buddhists who vote for the RATS. But there are a hell of a lot of Catholics who despise them. One should only look to the yearly pro-life demonstrations in Washington,

I've never thought of the Constitution as a Protestant document, but in many ways it is, in its stress on individual responsibility and the rule of law. If one's parents are in this country illegally, it is their decision and their risk to their children, just as a felon risks his children by committing murder and then being sent away from them. Protestants tend to regard the rule of Popes and priests with suspicion.

It's about the numbers overall. The chart below was from the Bush years; couldn't find one for Obama's election, but my guess is that it would have skewed even more Democrat among Catholics:

Nevertheless, Catholic hierarchy has been running interference on behalf of the Democratic Party since at least my seminary days in the 1960's. Likely, it's been much longer than that. That was when I started to pay attention.
Your observation remains axiomatic. I'm Catholic and lost all sympathy for Democrats sometime around 1969. It was shattered for all time in 1973 when every live birth became a cosmic failure for Democrats.
I would be interested in knowing why so many Cardinals and Bishops still want to run that interference since the foundation of the Democratic Party is made of platform planks anathema to what I understand as Catholic positions.

For some, this addiction is so strong that it may be said, to turn a phrase, that the Catholic Church in Chicago is the Democratic Party at prayer. It's a natural coalition.
The RCC rose to dominance by affiliating itself with the state. The state/church era in western civilization is a thing of the past, but using the state to perform a church's "social justice" ideals is not.

Great post.
It illustrates why there is a systematic attack on everything Born Again Christians believe in. The leftists don't have to worry about the RCC, their members are part of their base.

I believe implementation of "social justice" goals is the primary cause. Secondarily, the structure of this church is a centralized bureaucracy with a monarch at it's head as a result there is a natural affinity to similar structures and a distrust of those that prefer the opposite; a decentralized structure insisting on greater personal responsibility.

Consider the recent statement by Chicago's Francis Cardinal George. Ellyn Fortino reports in Illinois Progress that "Cardinal George, the archbishop of Chicago, joined Former House Speaker Hastert in support of a pathway to citizenship. He also called on the federal government to halt deportations. 'We should end deportations because they break up families, and the family, not the individual, is the basic unit of our society,' George told reporters in remarks after the event, held at DePaul University." Francis Cardinal George is not alone in his support for an end to deportation and for amnesty for illegal aliens. Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York holds a similar view. Perhaps he too suffers from a Democratic Party addiction. PFL

Interesting, all but for the generalizations, as they give us a reason to not hear and rationalize away the truth the generalizations contain.
Having said that, let me generalize by saying that Catholics, all flavors of Protestant, Jews and Republicans, to name a few we gather around, have all been "infiltrated" by the serpent, if you will.
No group is immune, at this or any other time in this story, and denying the truth among us won't make it go away.
Better to focus on the problem within than to allow it to divide and conquer us.

Couldn't have pinpointed it better.
It's sad that the Catholic hierarchy apparently believes that social justice should be imposed by government, when the Lord clearly wants it to be an expression of the individual conscience, and then delivered through votes for righteous representatives. What good is it to God, who reads hearts, if the government has forced its secular version of social justice upon the individual?
And how will God view the individual at Judgment who has lazily allowed the government to impose abortion on demand through taxation, or forced participation in the taxpayer funding of abortion and GBLT "education" not just in our schools, but also as a part of our foreign policy in nations where such behavior is a capital crime?

Let's face it much of the hierarchy in the church is pro socialist. But in the last election Catholics who regularly attended mas voted for Romney, while those who did not attend voted for Obama. Had the conservative wing not stayed home in large numbers Obama would have been a university president today.

This might anger some, but if the individual believes The Gospel they will be forgiven. However, can you image the pain you would feel to have Jesus say "I'm dissapointed in you".

That is true. But too much of society is morally conformism the evangelical church as well. May we be part of the remnant that resist.
