Americans wondering if assaults, breaking and entering and robberies are happening in their neighborhood do not have to wait for the local news sources to keep them up to date. Real time information is available at no cost to them with a map showing exact locations of where and what crimes have taken place.

Yes. There is also a video connected to the article that shows how the interactive mapping works. It also describes how a tv station in one city used the service so that residents of the area could see how that area was over run with crimes. Otherwise crime was barely reported and was a wake-up call to the residents.

Why not just post it here instead of pimping for hits?

If anyone is interested in forming a Neighborhood Watch to prevent or stop crime in your neighborhood, go to this site. We have signs in our neighborhood that announce we are a Neighborhood Watch community and the thieves stay away and go to the adjoining areas that do not have it.

You may need to check with your police or sheriff’s department to learn whether they subscribe to the service. I learned about it from the sheriff’s department in the county in which I live when we formed a Neighborhood Watch. It also reports on the adjoining city that has an out of control crime rate because of the drug-related gangs killing each other.

I receive a map that shows where crimes have been committed. I can click on each one that is shown and see what and where the crime took place.

Thanks for the information for another service. Since I have had no experience with it perhaps others can report whether or not it is as good as the one that has kept our subdivision crime free since it became available a few years ago.

Prior to that the criminals were so bold that cars were being stolen or stripped in the middle of the night. We also had some scary break and entering even when people were in their homes.

It just added to the number of readers who have clicked on it.

And that's the important thing, right?

If anyone wants to know about how we formed our Neighborhood Watch there is a comment section on the article page. I will be glad to tell you how we formed our Watch and how it united our subdivision in preventing becoming victims of crime.
