The New America a grotesque vestige of American the Beautiful

From Kim Kardashian’s butt to Miley Cyris’ obscene gyrations, clearly our American culture has popped, exploded, gone to hell in a hand basket, and is just plain offensive and out-of-control. Once again, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER tells it the way it is by featuring the re-release of the iconic art book WHITE TRASH UNCUT by outstanding photographer Christopher Makos. (1). His first edition is available for a whopping $500 a copy, but this second release is selling at $50 each and includes 40 new pix of the decline and fall of Western Civilization in full disgust.

Makos is “the first photographer to record the convergence of the uptown and downtown worlds as Debbie Harry fondly remembers,” says Peter Wise who wrote the book’s foreword. (2) The punk scene that grew out of the miasma of the 1970′s collapse of New York City pushed forward the sea change happening in America that began in college and university classrooms of...

“What has happened to our women in America? Seriously. The flagrant boobs brigade of TV anchor babes reading “news” is offensive. Let’s don’t even talk about their rhymes with “watch” shots every night in our living rooms, photo ops cleverly and deliberately written in to the television shows by directives from management, IMHO.”

Happy this was written by a women....as a male, I have felt the same way for many years....

Maybe, just maybe the pendulum is beginning to swing the other way. That this piece was written by a women gives me hope. I miss the America of my youth. Emily Post, we need you know more than ever.

My 8th grade son tells me the girls his age are all sluts who sleep with gangsters and cut themselves with razor blades in their spare time. We live in an upper middle class neighborhood and conservative area.

My son informs me these young middle school girls brag about these things. It is truly scary for young girls. The boys are disgusted by them. I just tell him there really are nice ladies out there and he should wait until he finds one with more in common with him.

We live in a lower-class trailer park (and conservative area). We have middle school girls. It isn't nearly that bad here. People are close to their families and their religion. There might be one or two "bad girls"; the rest are OK. Strong Hispanic family influence.

I don't know how or even when it happened or maybe I am just noticing it now. But go back less than 20 years and you won't see Tattooed up people who live off of government assitst EVERYWHERE.

I doesn't have to be like this.

I so agree. What’s worse is that many of the fabrics used in clothing today (spandex, etc.) cling to the body or make the body look very fluid when walking or moving about. Coupled with low necklines and almost non-existant skirts, most women look as if they need to go home and dress over again. They say that the way a woman dresses should not give any male an excuse for rape, but why dress provocatively if you are NOT dressing to stimulate male testosterone? One cannot control the environment one will be in completely, especially when going out in public. If you are dressing to advertise your wares, then I’d have to say that you have some part in the consequences. Not saying men should not control themselves, but women are not innocent when they purposely dress to entice gawking and comments.

I always told my girls in the Sex Ed. classes that to have better control over their bodies, they needed to dress appropriately in public. One can still be beautiful and turn heads without having to bare most of your body.

So glad your daughters are doing so well. Perhaps you could send some advice up this way for parents with daughters. It’s not that families here do not attend church because many do, but parents don’t seem to be noticing their behavior of their children. Too busy maybe.

I do not understand how these young ladies can cut themselves up with razor blades and their parents not notice. It is one of those things that would tend to jump out at you if you were paying any attention at all. Does anyone else see this happening in their area?

The communist goal was to destroy art for pure trash cynical ends.

The psychological pleasure-pain rape play is obvious in the gay culture if one is aware of that and not suppressed by PC. It is like a picture of a nice diamond sitting on top of manure, the play on attractive pretty items with the overall picture being disgusting.

You have hot women but trash ugly pictures of them. It is all a clever purposeful hateful mix of pleasure and horror and torture. TV is sick.

I think you hit it on the nail right there. Children need attention, and they'll look for negative attention if they're not getting it anywhere else.

Too many "good neighborhood people" seem to care more about the pretty portrait they can display on their desk or on the wall at home than the development of their children into solid adults. That takes time, energy, time, patience, and more time, and it seems that many don't take that time - they merely replace it with "things" and "programs" and hope that will suffice.

I say this as someone who has worked with middle and upper middle class kids for many years. Give them just a little attention in the right way and they don't know how to handle it....it's like a drug. So many kids tell us that they never have conversations with their parents....just yelling or lectures. It's sad.

Indeed. Why do men wear business suits while the women wear cocktail dresses to report the news?

Girls gone Wise in a World Gone Wild

Publication Date:March 26, 2010 Inundated by popular culture, many women have lost their bearings and no longer trust the internal compass that intuitively affirms those things that are good, true, and noble about womanhood. And as Jesus' favorite and most powerful teaching tactic was the parable, it is appropriate that Mary Kassian walks the reader through the compelling tale of the wild versus wise woman found in Proverbs 7. By using 20 points of contrast, the reader will be able to discern the difference between wild and wise. Is she living as a wise, biblically savy woman? Or has she bought into the one our culture holds as ideal: the wild woman?

Girls Gone Wise in a World Gone Wild will captivate, convict, and challenge women to become decreasingly wild and increasingly wise. Includes questions for personal reflection at the end of each chapter.

------------

This is a wonderful book that every Christian young lady needs to read to get her thinking and behavior in line with godly truth and purity, and to protect herself from being influenced by our horrible, horrible culture. The stories she tells of the completely messed up girls and women of our age are heartbreaking. I highly recommend parents go through it with their older teen daughters, especially if they are struggling in this area! (It is pretty blunt, as the Bible is blunt, so not for younger girls unless they are already drawn into that culture .)
