Pro-Life Speaker Peter LaBarbera Detained by Canadian Authorities for Opposing Homosexuality

Those considering an escape to Canada if the situation gets much worse in the USA might be persuaded to instead stay and fight for what is left of our freedom after learning of what happened to Peter LaBarbera when he headed north of the border to speak at a pro-life conference:

A prominent U.S. pro-family activist was detained by the Canadian Border Services Agency Thursday for alleged violations of Canada’s “hate propaganda” law.

Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, had flown into Regina International Airport to speak at the Saskatchewan Pro-Life Association provincial conference this [past] weekend.

LaBarbera had been targeted by a makeshift group known as “Intolerance Free Weyburn,” which pressured the government to deny him access to the country. LaBarbera believes he was flagged by customs as a result.

“Intolerance” is Liberalese for “opposition to liberalism.”

LaBarbera said the customs agent went through his luggage, his phone and laptop, and played a DVD of a speech he had given Wednesday. He then reviewed AFTAH [Americans for Truth About Homosexuality]’s website, pulled up the “about page,” and said, according to LaBarbera, “So you’re targeting an identifiable group of people based on sexual orientation.”

That is, he was accused of not approving of homosexual behavior. In Canada this is not only a thought crime, but an official crime. Those who commit it are subject to punishment under section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, which forbids “public incitement of hatred … against any identifiable group where such incitement is likely to lead to a breach of the peace.” In practical terms, that can be interpreted to read “conspicuous failure to display reverence for the privileged groups at the top of the liberal caste system.”

The government agent didn’t seem to mind the pro-life aspect of his planned speech. But disapproval of homosexual conduct is impermissible.

It follows from the Bible that anyone professing the Christian religion is subject to detention by Canadian authorities.

All of us who want to live in a free society will pay the bill that is being run up by those too spineless to confront homofascism.

Freedom of Speech is a thing of the past in Canada.

Remember what happened to Free Dominion?

Do they apply this law to Islamic madrassas?

I was kind of shocked to see this scene in “Turn” this weekend. “Lower than a sodomite”.

Of course not! Muzzies reply to criticism with murderous violence. So the Koran tells them.

Been to Canada. Believe me, it’s a foreign country with different notions of liberty than our own.

The last time I was in Canada I was asked by the RCMP whether my purpose there was business or pleasure.

When I said business, they asked me what my line of business was and who I was meeting.

Sounds like they are screening for more than terrorism now.

“hate propaganda”??

So that is what they are calling people who aren’t into sodomy nowadays? Wonderful. So in other words the government will determine what you will accept into your life even if it greatly repulses you. So if the government demands that you accept pedophilia, child rape, you must accept that and support it otherwise you will be tagged as a “hater”.

I've been to Canada for extended business stays twice in the last 5 years. Each time I couldn't wait to get out.

It is...I just don't know how to describe it. Suffocating? Insulting to one's sense of freedom and individuality? Hard to nail down but I will never go back. If my job depends on it, I'll consider it. But I'll politely ask them to consider another for the task.

If the liberals could get away with it they would pass laws prohibiting criticism of ANY liberal policy or platform. All in the name of tolerance.

“public incitement of hatred … against any identifiable group where such incitement is likely to lead to a breach of the peace."

In what way would this man's speaking at a pro-life event lead to "a breach of the peace"? Only if he were assaulted by gay activists.

What a fantastic show that is. “You’ll be put to death for buggery” I was saying to myself “Oh no, here it comes, protests and calls for cancellation because they are offending the gays” I’m a history nut, especially when it comes to the Revolution and I couldn’t believe they made a show like this. ABOUT TIME as there is virtually nothing out there when it comes to that, I guess liberals in the entertainment world don’t want to give the public any ideas.

The Canadians are so disarmed that it’ll be amusing to watch the Muzzies overrun them. Such a disarmed populace will not require a lot of them to achieve domination. Then we’ll see how that love for sodomites works out for them.

I went to Canada last year on vacation and will never go back. I also had the feeling that couldn’t be described of uncomfortableness while there.

I’ll never go there again.

When I said business, they asked me what my line of business was and who I was meeting.

I had to get a signed letter of invitation from our manager in Canada when I went there on business. Even with that, I was asked what my business was...in quite some detail. Do I own any firearms? ( I answered that one with 'none of your business. I'm an American citizen.')
Did I have any weapons in my possession? Did I have any contraband...foods, alcohol, etc? How long would I be staying? Where is this place of business located? How many are employed there? Who will I be meeting with?

Most of that info was on the letter I carried. I felt like a friggin' envoy carrying letters of marque being suspected of treason against the Crown. I hate that place.

It was kind of funny watching liberals on twitter get all excited about guys running around in Guy Fawkes only to be devastated when people started throwing rotten fruit at him and burning him in effigy. LOL

He’s a villain but Robert Rogers is one of the best characters on the show. The historical Rogers is a fascinating figure as well who contributed a great deal to America before fighting for the other side. His rules of ranging are still used today.

Or 9/11 truthers? Or people who say all Republicans are racists? Or who say that Sarah Palin is a moron?

Did Labarbara even make these statements in Canada? How do you arrest someone for doing something that was legal to do where he was at the time?

They were asking the same questions in the 70s when I went to school there.
