There is nothing so dependably disingenuous as a liberal who proclaims a willingness to have an honest debate or engage in a legitimate compromise. For decades spent in the practice of calculated deceit have made truth a foreign concept to these unprincipled vermin.
And no subject has been the cause of more outright dishonesty from the left than the right to keep and bear arms.
For decades, liberals have begun each new call for common sense gun legislation by reassuring gun owning, 2nd Amendment supporting Americans that nobody wants to take their guns. No one is seriously proposing to ban or confiscate all guns, claims Martin Dyckman, Associate Editor of the St. Petersburg Times. You hear that only from the gun lobby itself, which whistles up this bogeyman whenever...

The way I put it is:
The only reason someone would desire to remove your means of resisting violent coercion
is that they intend to use violence to coerce you.
Democrats Lie. That is all they do! nothing else! Remember that one fact and you should be able to protect yourself.
Well put.
“Democrats Lie.”
True, but who lies more, democrats or muslims?
Irrelevant. No one is going to take my guns.
From my cold dead hands!
MOLON LAVE!
Let the bodies hit the floor!
And to think, in 1962 Thomas J Dodd and Emaual Cellar proposed the first federal law on common firearms.
1962; We dont want to take away your guns, we ONLY want to register handguns! Rifles and shotguns will not be affected.
1964: We only want to register all your guns, not ban them! Only Army surplus guns will be banned.
1968: We only want to register your guns, and ban Saturday Night Specials and small foreign handguns along with army surplus rifles! (They got the ban on 5 shot army surplus rifles and handguns and small foreign pistols)
1970: We only want to ban Saturday night specials! Large handguns and rifles will not be affected!
1971: According to the SCOTUS, Miller Decision, RIFLES are protected under the 2nd Amendment, handguns are not!
1976: We only want to ban all handguns! Long guns will not be affected!
1981: The NRA is a rifle organization! They should give up their handguns, and they can keep their rifles!- Lee Grant on GMA
1984: We must ban assault Rifles, unsuitable or hunting!
1989: George Bush bans import of some foreign made assault rifles”.
1992: Assault rifle ban passed by Clinton.
2000: first calls to ban single shot .50 cal rifles...
2012 calls for MORE bans on semi auto rifles and handguns.
And so it continues.
They lied to us in 1962.
They lied to us in 1964.
They lied to us in 1968.
They lied to us in 1970.
They lied to us in 1976.
They lied to us in 1981.
They lied to us in 2013,
AND THEY ARE LYING TO US NOW!

“I’m convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily given the political realities going to be very modest.
Of course, it’s true that politicians will then go home and say, ‘This is a great law. The problem is solved.’ And it’s also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.
So then we’ll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal total control of handguns in the United States is going to take time.
My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors totally illegal.”

“Yes, I’m for an outright ban [on handguns].”
-Pete Shields, Chairman emeritus, Handgun Control, Inc., 60 Minutes interview
HCI, around 1984, came out in favor of a ban on semi-auto rifles and shotguns.
Martin Dyckman: The phony right to bear arms has become a national insanity
Martin Dyckman talks about the national insanity coming from a phony right to bear arms, saying that there has been nothing so irrational since the witchcraft craze in colonial New England. The pathological demands of the gun lobby have completely cowed and conquered Congress and nearly every legislature.

Apr 6, 2014 - Martin Dyckman: If Scott gets to pack the court, expect more executions
Martin Dyckmans brand of hate is not new. For decades he has attacked the NRA and gun owners, inventing facts to score phony points.
Dyckman suggests that the NRA is an anarchistic relic
Dyckman attacks the NRA for having the gall to promote school security options that dont infringe on constitutional rights.
In the latest in a long career of hate mongering, Martin Dyckman, a retired associate editor of the Tampa Bay Times, wrote yet another nasty opinion editorial, this time in the Sun Sentinel, attacking the National Rifle Association. (NRA once had principles, now they just push anarchy, Jan. 2.)
Along with his childish name-calling and finger-pointing, he launched into a diatribe, claiming that, Not so many years ago, the NRA was a moderate force The NRA could be reasonable with respect to regulation of weapons But the moderate leadership was overthrown, likely with significant help from arms manufacturers and sellers the merchants of death.
yeah and if you like your doctor you can keep him, along with the insurance you like.
> “Nobody Wants to Take Your Guns”
Yes, they do. Andrew Cuomo would take them in a heartbeat.
Here’s a viable compromise: conservatives won’t fight a total gun ban for all major city residents (aka Democrats) in exchange for reduced restrictions in areas with a population density less than 1,000 people per square mile (aka Republicans). Democrats agree to never leave their concrete and steel compounds without Republican approval.

Sooner or later, it is going to occur to a significant amount of the American people that these jerks are too dangerous to be left alive. Then the fun starts.
