Prayer Request: Employment after almost 2 years without
A Formerly Proud Canadian

Posted on 06/10/2014 2:43:20 PM PDT by A Formerly Proud Canadian

Good afternoon,

After almost two years of unemployment and a divorce, I ask for prayer that I obtain employment in my field very soon. Tomorrow and Thursday is the Global Petroleum Show in Calgary and a part of it is a job fair I am attending. I am praying that I can get a position in accounting or finance in Calgary. As I married soon after graduating, I was unable to pursue a designation, and after the divorce, I had no desire to pursue a designation, so that is a disadvantage. Please pray that the Lord sees fit to bless me with a decent job in my field.

If I am out of line in posting this request, please forgive me and remove it.

Thanks.

I work for a global corp and I am certain they have contracts in Canada. Shoot me a resume and I will pass it along.

God bless...

I offer my most heartfelt prayer for your employment soon. I had one time in fifty years of work where I was out for a long period and it was a terrible feeling and I felt very lost. The job I got at the end of that has gone for eleven years and has been the hardest but most finacially rewarding.

Likewise, I pray for your healing from divorce and the pain and disruption to your entire life that comes with it. I pray that you receive a blessing in your personal life as I did and find a joy and peace you never imagined.

I appreciate rather than question your asking for common prayer with your fellow posters here. You compliment us by your trust and we thank you for it.

I will keep you in my prayers. Stay positive and smile as you meet with prospective employers. You may want to swing down to North Dakota and check out their booming energy business, if you’re able.

Consider starting a small business.

For example, pre-accountancy preparation is often a bear. You could get financial information in order for submission to accountants.

Think small-but-necessary.

God Bless.

This is a great scripture to stand on. . .Heavenly Father, we pray in the name of Jesus that Your Plan for A Formerly Proud Canadian will come to pass in Your Time, Your Way.

Proverbs 3:5-10

King James Version (KJV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Prayers sent for the intercession of St. Joseph (patron of workers) for you!

And can you say one for me too? I did finally get a job, but quite frankly it’s awful. Better than nothing, way way better, but still, inadequate.

I don’t know what you mean about this “designation” stuff, I’m assuming that is Canada specific.

But just go get it anyway, if you can, whatever it is.

I’m 55 years old, I’ve got almost 40 years of solid work experience (more if you count babysitting!), over 20 at my most recent “real” gig, and the fact that I never got a college degree back in the bad old 70s is really hurting me now.

It’s like the end of the Wizard of Oz, without a testimonial you ain’t got jack.

So, I am praying for you and will keep my fingers crossed!

Best of luck to you!

I will be happy to pray for you.

I was let go from my career back in 2006, a combination of being outsourced my job was just eliminated when the founder and CEO left and the company went through a totsl restructure.

I had some good luck with temp agencies with long term jobs that lasted for in one case nine months and in one case over a year.
