Liberal's Solution to Border Crisis: Let Illegals Become 'State Citizens'
Breitbart's Texas ^ | June 19, 2014 | Kristin Tate

Posted on 06/19/2014 8:49:54 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Breitbart Texas reported on a proposed bill in New York that would allow more than 2 million illegal immigrants to get a myriad of benefits including voting rights, the ability to run for office, Medicaid, drivers licenses, and in-state tuition by allowing them to become "state citizens." A sponsor of that bill, State Senator Gustavo Rivera (D-Bronx), told Breitbart Texas he thinks states in the Southwest should consider similar legislation to deal with the border crisis involving thousands of Central Americans entering the country illegally.

The bill was crafted "so that it can be replicated in other states," Rivera said. "If immigration reform doesn't happen at the national level, the states can take action."

If Rivera's legislation were passed in New York, an estimated 2.7 million people, all of whom are not citizens of the United States, would become "state citizens." In order to qualify, an individual would need to have no criminal history and prove they have lived in New York for three years.

In order to introduce the bill, Rivera released a press release called, "Bold New Campaign Demands Full Equality for Non-Citizens."(continued)

My solution is to delcare war on Mexico, since they have on us, close the border militarlily and shoot to kill anyone crossing illegally.

Then tell the Mexican president to cease and desist or we’ll drop a small nuclear bomb in the heart of Mexico City.

Problem solved.

Einstein were right. The only thing that is infinite is human stupidity.

Look - admit right now that the border can never be fully closed. People are rather inventive when it comes to OUTA’ing obstacles. Still - closing it 99% is doable, and not at a huge cost. You are paying the army anyway - let them practice along the border.

Grab the aircraft carrier they just decommissioned, park it in the Gulf of Mexico and use it as a holding pen until you can send illegals back to their native land.

At the same time, make legal immigration a little easier and a little more relaxed. At the moment, it is a horrible mess of conflicting rules. Kill the idea of anchor babies for anyone other than legal immigrants. Maybe they have not completed all the hoops yet, but they are working on it. Any kid they have should be judged an American citizen.

Illegal? Congratulate the new parents on their way to their deportation flight.

Let’s ask the Israelis.

As a real immigrant I was quite content to wait until I was an American citizen...

Oh, they know. Found another 15 tunnels already this year, I think - could be more. Sure, a couple of them are straightforward smuggling routes, but that can’t be hugely reassuring.

Yep. That's because their real agenda is being exposed. They want amnesty so that they can get the voters. They literally do not care how that happens - it is utterly irrelevent to them. They want the Democrat voters they assume these people will become.

Nothing but power for the sake of power. That is the Democrats.

Wrong.
Natural Born Citizen means Citizen at Birth.
Every Immigration Attorney in the Country agrees with me.
Every member of Congress agrees with me.
Every Judge in the Country agrees with me.
Every State Election Officer agrees with me.

There are only two types of US Citizen:
Naturalized or Natural Born

Of course, the NY Legislator is an idiot on the Constitution, as he has no authority at the State level to enact citizenship rules.

You didn’t say American citizen parents

you said legal immigrant

there is a difference...

If the child is born after both immigrant parents become American citizens then yes she is an NBC and she can be president...

If however she was born BEFORE the immigrant parents became American citizens while she is still an American citizen born herself she is NOT an NBC and therefore cannot be president...

This should be illegal, since they as members of that state would theoretically vote on “Federal” candidates?? If not it violates the spirit of the Constitution since our 17th Amendment would have originally allowed these supposed “state citizens” vote on state legislative races, who then in session in state legislatures would have picked FEDERAL legislators to the U.S. Senate! Treasonous, all. Democrats!

Thank you Nana!

Is it formal? Things might have changed now, but a friend of mine gave birth in the US. A month or so early and unexpectedly, and the doctors and nurses were amazing. So were the church visitors who basically took her, her husband and their new arrival in hand and sorted a place to stay, baby clothes, friends. Nice people - they stay in touch and trade pictures :)

Yet because her child were born in the USA and registered there (paperwork mix up, they did ask for him to be registered at the embassy, not locally) he’s technically a US citizen now. Going to cause problems down the road for him. It were that easy to have an anchor baby.

Are “State Citizens” sort of like the Made In Montana firearms, exempt from federal laws such as NFA ‘34? Which for some reason are causing threats and conniptions from the federal government? The same government that’s pushing State Citizens?

If the child born here is indeed a citizen at the moment of birth then YES, that child can be President.

Now I do agree with many who hold that the “under the jurisdiction there of” portion of the 14th Amendment could be tweaked by Congress to disallow Citizenship for such a child. Congress does have the power to make and change citizenship rules.

However, under current law, if the child is a citizen at birth, the child is a Natural Born Citizen and can indeed be President.

I suggest you go to the US State Department Web Page and pull up an application for US Passport. You will find links there, to all valid US Citizenship laws and the dates in which those laws applied.

“Natural Born Citizen” means “Citizen at Birth” and absolutely, positively NOTHING else.
