I make no apology for this title. The Jews have much to answer for, especially the Jews of Israel – and there’s no letting up.
I write from England, this precious stone set in the silver sea, where our forefathers were nourished on the blessed freedoms of a robust paganism.
We relished our ever-inventive superstitions and gloried in unbridled passion. We made our choice between 14 gods, worshipped devils, and were in lifelong bondage to an inexorable fate known sinisterly as Wyrd. Standards there were, agreeably low.
Sure, hopeless ruffians were we, shackled to a changeless decree of the gods, but we felt mostly good about our brute lives and ourselves. We were all in the same boat, no better and no worse than the next bloke.
However, like the distant rumblings of an approaching rainstorm, the Jewish Messiah’s teachings had reached our shores in the 1st century, and their voice was growing louder. The Jewish Messiah and the Jewish Bible would become our nemesis and break open our little world.
What followed is well documented and one may Google for the relevant facts, but, for us, it meant that we could no longer enjoy the life of unbridled paganism. The bar of morality had been raised. It was a rude awakening; our stone of shelter was overturned. Now I am reminded of a friend back in the 70′s, who was employed for a few days in a factory that manufactured long, electro-plated metal rods. Turning out nearly 300 of these things every day, he was approached by the Foreman.

Good commentary.
This captures the essence of what the Jews mean by saying “Chosen People”. Jews are chosen by God to be a light, an example, to the world, but without any thoughts of superiority or exclusivity. There are other peoples in the world like that, too. For example, the Tibetan Buddhists.
As someone who struggles with this concept from time to time and appreciates the differences between words and actions, I can't help but be impressed, even if my own efforts make me look bad by comparison.

One of the raids on Dresden by the 8th Air Force hit the rail yards. The yards were packed with trains. It was one of the most precise strikes of the war. The rail yards looked like a lunar landscape.
The trains were full of refugees. Thousands of fleeing civilians died.
From 25,000 feet it is not possible to tell if trains are full of munitions, soldiers or civilians. If I had squeezed the pickle on one of those B-17G bombers, I would have no regrets. Such is war.

Actually, Goebbels, a paleo-Nazi, originally inflated the Dresden fatality totals, by about a factor of ten. (Most of the fatalities were due to poorly improvised air raid shelters, btw.) The Soviets found that the Nazi lie served their purposes, so they perpetuated it.
Goebbels merely took the original Dresden police reports and multiplied by ten. After the fall of East Germany, the German government commissioned a study, which revealed the deception, and attributed the still high fatalities to Nazi air raid shelters, basically, the basements of apartment buildings, with single exits easily blocked by rubble. People who remained in their homes and stayed in the streets when their homes caught fire had much higher survival rates.
