How close? Remember when the US had insisted Assad used the chemical weapons even though it was the terrorists that had something to gain from their use? These were the rebels the US was arming, training, and financing. That's how ISIS got started in Syria.

Remember when the US gov was saying the terrorists didn't have the ability to do those attacks? Thery're looking pretty capable now.

For all of its spying, the US has been just plain awful with arming bad guys and not even knowing where the weapons ended up and giving them to people have no interest in the US agenda.

Look at all the relatively stable governments/dictators the United States has actively engaged in overthrowing:

Mubarak (Egypt), EGYPTIAN MILITARY REVERSED OBAMA/HILLARY'S MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD TAKEOVER

Assad (Syria), NOW CHAOTIC (OVERTHROW ATTEMPT ONGOING)

The REAL United States would NOT overthrow any of these leaders, AS WAS THE CASE FOR DECADES!!!.. The NWO/Team Obama coup on the U.S. government has resulted in these oustings. Regarding Iraq, Bush was CONNED into overthrowing Saddam because of BOGUS 'yellow cake' intelligence planted by those who seek to destroy the West and render chaotic ALL OF HER TRADITIONAL ALLIES.
