Clinton: 'Deep-seated' beliefs block abortion access - back up and enforce laws

Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday said "deep-seated … religious beliefs" have to be changed before the world's women will get full access to abortion.

“Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth, and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” Clinton said, according to The Daily Caller.

“Rights have to exist in practice — not just on paper,” she argued about abortion. “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will."

“And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed,” Clinton added.

Clinton’s remarks came during the sixth annual Women in The World Summit in New York. She also called on world leaders to speed up progress on women’s rights across the globe.

“As I have said and as I believe, the advancement of the full participation of women and girls in every aspect of their societies is the great unfinished business of the 21st century,” Clinton claimed.

“Not just for women but for everyone,” she added. “And not just in far away countries but right here in the United States.”

Clinton additionally tied the struggle for feminine equality to amnesty for illegal immigrants. She hinted that her GOP foes next election cycle did not understand the implications of their stance opposing amnesty.

“There are those who offer themselves as leaders who would deport mothers working to give their children a better life, rather than risk the ire of talk radio,” Clinton said.

Clinton is thus far the only declared option for Democratic voters in 2016. She came under fire on Thursday amid allegations the Clinton Foundation accepted donations from foreign entities in exchange for political favors from State during her tenure.

A key accusation is that a Clinton Foundation donor sold his uranium mining company to Russian buyers during Clinton’s stint as secretary.

Author Peter Schweizer exposed those charges in his upcoming book, Clinton Cash, due out May 5.

Hillary Clinton and "The Third Way" How America's First Lady of the Left Has Bamboozled Liberals and Conservatives Alike ".....The intoxicating vision of a social redemption achieved by Them—this is what creates the left, and makes the believers so self-righteous.

And it did so long before Karl Marx. It is the vision of this redemption that continues to inspire and animate them despite the still-fresh ruins of their Communist dreams.

It is this same idea that is found in the Social Gospel which impressed the youthful Hillary Clinton at the United Methodist Church in Park Ridge, Illinois. She later encountered the same idea in the New Left at Yale and in the Venceremos Brigade in Communist Cuba, and in the writings of the New Leftist who introduced her to the "politics of meaning" even after she had become America's First Lady. It is the idea that drives her comrades in the Children's Defense Fund, the National Organization for Women, the Al Sharpton House of Justice and the other progressive causes which for that reason still look to her as a political leader.

For these self-appointed social redeemers, the goal—"social justice"—is not about rectifying particular injustices, which would be practical and modest, and therefore conservative. Their crusade is about rectifying injustice in the very order of things. "Social Justice" for them is about a world reborn, a world in which prejudice and violence are absent, in which everyone is equal and equally advantaged and without fundamentally conflicting desires. It is a world that could only come into being through a re-structuring of human nature and of society itself.

Even though they are too prudent and self-protective to name this future anymore, the post-Communist left still passionately believes it possible. But it is a world that has never existed and never will. Moreover, as the gulags and graveyards of the last century attest, to attempt the impossible is to invite the catastrophic in the world we know.

But the fall of Communism taught the progressives who were its supporters very little. Above all, it failed to teach them the connection between their utopian ideals and the destructive consequences that flowed from them. The fall of Communism has had a cautionary impact only on the overt agendas of the political left. The arrogance that drives them has hardly diminished. The left is like a millenarian sect that erroneously predicted the end of the world, and now must regroup to revitalize its faith.

No matter how opportunistically the left's agendas have been modified, however, no matter how circumspectly its goals have been set, no matter how generous its concessions to political reality, the faithful have not given up their self-justifying belief that they can bring about a social redemption. In other words, a world in which human consciousness is changed, human relations refashioned, social institutions transformed, and in which "social justice" prevails.

Because the transformation progressives seek is ultimately total, the power they seek must be total as well. In the end, the redemption they envision cannot be achieved as a political compromise, even though compromises may be struck along the way. Their brave new world can ultimately be secured only by the complete surrender of the resisting force. In short, the transformation of the world requires the permanent entrenchment of the saints in power. Therefore, everything is justified that serves to achieve the continuance of Them......" - David Horowitz - June 2000

She and her comrades are ready and willing to use government force to achieve this goal.

Liberals have just as many “deep-seated beliefs” as we do, and apparently theirs take precedence over ours.

That’s without getting into the respective origins of the sets of “deep-seated beliefs.”

If rending unborn babies limb-from-limb because they’re inconvenient is not wrong, then nothing is wrong.

Horowitz is right on target. For me, this is the money quote:

Because the transformation progressives seek is ultimately total, the power they seek must be total as well

That says it all. Hubris is the soul of tyranny.

You’re right - it’s what they’ve always wanted; they won’t ever stop trying to get it.

The entire abortion debate comes down to whether you define life as beginning when it begins, or the opposing position which is “an embryo is just a blob of goo.”

I’m not speaking to conservatives here. I’m speaking to liberals to reflect on their sixth grade level thought process.

I would tar & feather her with her own words every time she opens her mouth contrary to this:

...laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,

For too long no longer can we.

Everything about America sucks. Did you know that? Immigration laws don’t count for much either, Ms. Clinton.

The equality the Left ultimately seeks is the equality of the mass grave, where they would put any of us who oppose them.

“And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed,” Clinton added.

Whoa...someone's gotten way too big for their britches and leisure suit.

So...with this new morality and "cultural code" in hand, you can then conveniently kill the inconvenient unborn without thought, remorse or regret?!?

Do you really believe there will be no consequences? Have you read Ezekiel 28?

"since you consider yourself the equal of God, very well, I am going to bring foreigners against you, the most barbarous of the nations;"

"they will draw sword against your fine wisdom, they will defile your glory; they will throw you down into the pit and you will die a violent death surrounded by the seas; are you still going to parade as the High Priest clad in silver and gold?

are you still going to say: I am a god, a Prophet, when your murderers confront you? no, you are a man, and not a god, in the clutches of your murderers! and you will die like the godless at the hand of the foreigners;"

Take this fork in the road and this nation's overdue "Fourth Turning" will most certainly be its last.

It is Just Freaking Unbelievable that a candidate for the President of the United States of America has the unmitigated audacity to make such a statement.

This is a shot across the bow of true Christendom (note: not the fake Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Rob Bell brand of Christianity)

This shows why the tribulation period that the Bible predicts is so needed. My guess is that humanity needs a major sifting out of evil before Jesus comes back...

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
