“Wouldn’t it be fun to watch all these guys lose to Bush?”: “SNL” hosts own GOP leadership conf.

Cecily Strong introduced each of the GOP presidential "hopefuls" with a series of all-too-accurate puns.

The Southern Republican Leadership Conference looks way more fun when it happens on “Saturday Night Live.”

“SNL” mocked the event in its cold open this week, playing up the gathering of GOP presidential hopefuls as “the hottest event of the year,” complete with dance numbers and a very punny DJ (Cecily Strong). Strong introduced each of the “candidates” with zingers that ranged from a little painful (did Mike Huckabee really turn Arkansas “from a red state to a shred state”?) to, well, funny — and rather accurate.

“Put this guy in prison, ’cause he’s gonna steal your vote,” Strong said of Republican candidate Ben Carson (Kenan Thompson). “But watch out, because if sexuality works the way he says it does, he might turn gay in there!”

“SNL” pulled no punches with any of the candidates, poking fun at the inconsistencies in Rand Paul’s antiabortion and pro-marijuana policies, as well as Ted Cruz’s chin. Strong expressed that none might have what it takes as she concluded the sketch.

“Wouldn’t it be fun to watch all these guys lose to Jeb Bush?” she said.

Watch the cold open below:

Hollywood, television, the elites, the media and other "thought leaders" all want Bush vs. Clinton. Why is that, do you think?

The liberal media will play Brer Rabbit with us until the primaries are over. We need to learn to ignore them. They are trying to influence our voting with the “can win” “best against Hillary” or “only viable candidate” theories. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Their manipulation works only if we let it.

I sent Salon a slamming email about their one sided gay marriage coverage. I asked them if they would mention the very young mortality age of gay males, the epidemic levels of venereal disease, the fact that even with HIV treatment, they are getting dementia in their 40’s. And other stuff. I'm sure they didn't care but i got it off my chest lol

I watched SNL’s pathetic sketch of the declared GOP candidates. I think their writers have retarded their maturity from their adolescent days in high school. Their shtick, as always, is stuck on stupid. I wouldn’t trust them in one of New York’s white tablecloth restaurants. They might start a food fight without a thought.

The writers:

James Anderson, Jeremy Beiler, Michael Che, Mikey Day, Steve Higgins, Leslie Jones, Colin Jost, Zach Kanin, Chris Kelly, Erik Kenward, Rob Klein, Lorne Michaels, Claire Mulaney, Mike O’Brien, Josh Patten, Alison Rich, Katie Rich, Tim Robinson, Natasha Rothwell, Nick Rutherford, Sarah Schneider, Pete Schultz, Streeter Seidell, John Solomon, Kent Sublette, Bryan Tucker

I saw it last night too. SNL was awful! It hasn’t been funny all year but last night was a new low.

Sometimes SNL is funny, even when being snarky.

This skit just wasn’t funny. At all.

This is what they did to Dr. Ben Carson:

Candidate introduction woman: “Next up! He went to Yale so, yale all ready for this? It’s Ben Carson. He’s a medical genius, but tell that to his what he says. And, he’s a doctor but, he don’t want no scrubs. He wants to be President and he’s about to put his neurosurgeon training to use. Because the things he says will blow your mind!”

Dr. Ben Carson (impersonator): “Obamacare is the worst thing since slavery.”

Candidate introduction woman: “He said that! Put this guy in prison because he’ gonna steal your vote! Because if sexuality works the way he says it does, he might turn gay in there. It’s Ben Carson!

The skit on Carly Fiorina topped it off. She rides in on a Harley, does a stripper routine which includes sticking out her tongue, touching her tongue with her finger and putting her finger on her arched rear as flames go off on either side of the stage. The candidate introduction woman after implying that Fiorina has no foreign policy experience, does a play on her name: “Hey! Is it hot in here? Yes! Because of Carly Fiorina, this girl is on fiorire [her name is made to sound like fire]!”

This was as despicable as it gets, with the lie implying that Carly has no foreign policy experience. In various leadership positions, she knows more world leaders than anyone else running.`Unlike Hillary Clinton, she did not do just photo ops with these leaders. She has sat across the table with Vladamir Putin, Bibi Netanyahu, King Abdullah II of Jordan, leaders of Saudi Arabia, and the Chinese leadership. Even though, Carly Fiorina is not a top tier candidate, the treatment by SNL only created misconception not based on truth.
