Treasure Coast fishing tours captain mourns death of coastal fishing thanks to Obama Regime

A message from Captain Stan Jarusinski, Licensed Master, to Florida’s Port St. Lucie Anglers

In 2008 the new administration closed down fishing from Maine across the Gulf Coast to Texas and on the Pacific Coast from Cal. to Wash. and all Alaskan waters. When I talked about this at the Fishing Seminars, Florida fishermen were unaware of this fish closing. According to the Administration, the closings were implemented to “create jobs.” Interesting that no one in the Administration mentioned where the jobs were going to be created. Due to our North Carolina, coastal waters being closed to fishing, we lost 2 fish houses in the Carteret/Onslow County area. Fishermen/women were put out of work, the same work their families had done for 2 generations before them; charter boats and commercial fishing boats were lined up at the docks ready to go, but had nowhere to go. CREATE MORE JOBS?

My local political action involved U. S. Congressman Walter Jones, North Carolina Dist. 3. Walter’s District comprised the majority of the commercial, charter and recreational saltwater fishermen in the State of N. C. He was the most active Congressman and proposed more legislation than all the other Congressmen combined. Working closely with Walter and hosting a website that also addressed the issue is the reason I was invited to speak at a fishing rally in St. Petersburg in front of the NOAA building. We discovered that NOAA was put on lockdown, its employees could not leave the facility for lunch as they had to protect themselves from us terrorists.

After the Police saw what we were doing; had all the legal permits, they relaxed, called hdq…1/2 of those policemen there left. We attempted to enter OUR government building, but were refused entry! It was my first experience being refused admittance to...

I would rather buy seafood caught by American crews and packed in the US than from the GD RED CHINESE.

Read the whole article. On top of Bam Bam, Rubio also shows his penchant for screwing US citizens in favor of South Americans.

Have you truly seen anything pertaining to the Mercun Peepul to believe otherwise?

This is a nation of herbivores, and will stampede to get through the cattle chutes to the slaughterhouse.

And no republicans have brought this up with their constituents or on TV interviews? Of course not.

This is just a snapshot of what is yet to come in every industry not yet completely controlled by the currant Liberal Progressive Democrat Communist Regime.

Whatever your endeavor to practice economical freedom they will find and rout you out.

Agree that we should support our American fishermen and fishing industry first and foremost.
However, does anyone know if NOAA fisheries authority had any credible evidence justifying fishing restictions due to declining fish species, ie: Mahi mahi, Cod, flounder, etc?
I ask, because I lived and sport fished in CT from the 70’s thru recent, and witnessed firsthand dramatically reduced catches in Long Island Sound and the Cape.

Perhaps, yes, but not because of manmade causes. I was recently speaking to an old timer, a small time commercial fisherman and the son, grandson and great grandson to small time commercial fishermen, who said it’s the weather. He’d seen it before where cold delays and shortens the season reducing the catch. Might be what they call a natural cycle or occurrence.

I did read the entire article and I don't see what you are referring to. This is from the article that refers specifically to Sen. Rubio;
In August of 2014, notified Fishing Club and Blog members of the Pirate Fishing Elimination Act proposed by Presidential Candidate Marco Rubio, that will stop the drug cartels in Central American from overfishing by any means necessary.

How is that showing Rubio 'screwing US citizens'?

However, does anyone know if NOAA fisheries authority had any credible evidence justifying fishing restictions due to declining fish species,

Here in Mass. Bay out of the blue NOAA shut down the cod fishing to zero possession of cod as of Sept. 1, 2014, for recreational and charterboats.
This has devastated the charter fleet who cod fish heavily in April, May and June.
When the tuna, bass, bluefish and sharks show after that, those charters replace a lot of codfishing charters.

I talked to he most heavily booked cod fisherman in my area and he told me in May of 2014, he had 27 booked charters.
In May of his year he had 3, and they could only keep 3 haddock per person and no Cod.

Obama's top dog appointee to NOAA Jane Lubchenko turned the draggers loose on cod in Mass. Bay, and the 24 hrs /day draggers depleted a lot of the cod stocks.

NOAA's solution was to take it out on the recreational and charterboat fishermen, by stopping us from cod fishing.

NOAA puts us in a bind when we fill out the required daily Vessel Trip Report forms.(VTRs)
If you claim you are catching and releasing a lot of cod while haddock fishing they can use that to shut down the haddock fishing to protect the cod since cod and haddock are usually caught in the same areas, by the same fishing methods.

If you don't report catching and releasing cod they can say "see this proves there are not many cod out there as we claimed, or you would be catching them while haddock fishing".

NOAA manipulates the statistics to get a political agenda passed by using fishing regulations. - Tom

The end result is that U. S. fishing seasons are closed, basically to accommodate those that overkill fish with no regard to limits or international rules.

Per the article, the "any means necessary" is to keep US fishermen from working to offset the over-fishing by South Americans
