Well to be fair Bush had NO problem with the basic concept and even praised Franklin Raines at a meeting honoring him

He did try and stop the corruption once he saw what was happening but never did realize that is what you get with liberal left wing sham programs

As a former NYer, I have watched Trump for over 35 years and with all his call-ins to morning news shows on TV and radio and his pressers, I have never seen him at a loss for words or stumped by a reporter.

I don't know how he'll respond to such a question but believe me when I say that he will either answer the question or redirect the question to something else he wants to say.

Al Kresta - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Al Kresta (born 1951) is a Catholic broadcaster, journalist and author. A former Evangelical pastor, he is now the President and CEO of Ave Maria Radio, and host of Kresta in the Afternoon, produced by Ave Maria Radio and syndicated on EWTN Global Catholic Radio, heard on more than 160 stations around the United States, Sirius Satellite, and numerous webstreams.

Personal Background

A 1976 honors graduate of Michigan State University, Kresta has done graduate work in theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and Ashland Theological Seminary.

In 1986, Kresta began pastoring Shalom Ministry in Taylor, MI. He became well known in the Detroit area for his program, "Talk from the Heart," one of the top-rated Christian talk shows during the 1980s and 90s on WMUZ. When he began the program, Al was a Protestant pastor. The questions forced upon him as pastor, however, led him to return to the Catholic Church. His profound personal conversion to Christ and return to the Catholic Church is told in the best-selling anthology Surprised By Truth.

In 1997 Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan recruited him to launch the media apostolate, Ave Maria Communications. Over the years, Kresta has engaged in vigorous discussions and debates with many nationally known figures from politics, the arts, the Church, academia and business.

Kresta has been a guest on BBC Radio and major TV network news affiliates. His radio work has received mention by Associated Press, "The Washington Times," "National Catholic Reporter," "Our Sunday Visitor," "Envoy," "Christianity Today," and numerous metropolitan newspapers.

Kresta's life and spiritual journey took on a new dimension in February 2003, when he lost his left leg to necrotizing fasciitis, a virulent infection often referred to as the "flesh-eating bacteria." His extended recovery and eventual return to broadcasting have given him new insights into the realities of suffering and hope.

Kresta and his wife, Sally, were married in 1977 and currently have 5 children.

Books

Kresta is the author of "Why Do Catholics Genuflect?—And Answers to Other Puzzling Questions About the Catholic Faith" (Servant Books), "Why Are Catholics So Concerned About Sin?" (St. Anthony Messenger Press) and co-author with Nick Thomm of "Moments of Grace: Inspiring Stories From Well-Known Catholics" (St. Anthony Messenger Press). He is a contributor to "Shaken by Scandals: Catholics Speak Out About Priests’ Sexual Abuse" (Servant Books), and "Loving Your Neighbor," (Capital Research Foundation).

Why Do Catholics Genuflect?

Why Do Catholic Genuflect? has made the top-10 list of Catholic books compiled by the Catholic Book Publisher’s Association. It answers more than 50 common questions about Catholic religious beliefs and spiritual practices. At its release, Kresta explained that the book isn’t intended to be "a definitive work of apologetics." Rather, it is written in question-and-answer style like "a conversation that would help interested Catholics and non-Catholics better understand why Catholics believe and behave as we do."

First off, I don’t think any debate moderator would concede the point that Democrat policies caused the 2008 crash.

If asked, though, Trump could simply say that chicken-sh!t Republicans were acting like Democrats and the country needs Republican leadership with stones and a spine.

I expect democrats to be evil because they are evil. This includes Trump since his turn to the GOP is only convenient for his ego.

I said that to preface this: The GOP had the White House and Congress from 2001 - 2007. They were slowly, ever so painfully slowly, erasing the deficit. But they didn’t curb corruption and were completely unable to articulate a plan that would restore public trust. The Dems, always more quick on their feet, destroyed the GOP in the 2006 elections because conservatives sat on their hands to punish the GOP.

How has that worked out? Conclusion: There’s plenty of blame to go around.

Mr. Trump, why do you blame Republicans for the 2008 economic crisis when it was caused by Democrat policies, and if you don't really know what caused that crash, why should we trust you to help steer the economy in the future?

Because in 2008, Trump was a declared Democrat and Obama supporter. Stalking horses are gonna stalk.

Trump, Cruz or any Conservative could knock that question out of the park. If we allow the media or anyone else to hide the fact that there was Republican culpability in the debacle, we do not deserve to win--nor can anyone who understands economics trust us. Yes the Democrats pushed housing for those who could not possibly afford that housing; providing part of the incentive for the creation of a mountain of worthless debt instruments; but Republicans went along with some of that push--lest the weak kneed ones be seen as anti-poor people.

More significant in what actually followed; it was Bush II's Secretary of the Treasury who advocated our big banks being allowed to grossly--grossly and then some--over-leverage their assets, to set the stage for the massive meltdown.

Corrupt banking policy combined with corrupt social policy. Both cancers need to be attacked.

Which of those Democrat policies did Mitch McConnell or John Boehner oppose?

The uniparty may properly be referred to by either of its names.

Question isn’t a showstopper.

DannyTN would tell us that this post is bunk because Trump is soooooo strong on economic policy.

Trump has more than this one issue to answer for...and these will be his downfall.

That was a bi-partision disaster but fortunately for Dems the POTUS party almost always gets the blame for stuff that goes wrong (or right) in his second term.

GWB had his hands on that one too.

Which moderator in our media will ask any question openly critical of democrats, especially a question blaming them for the 2008 recession? The same guys that ask Hillary about her favorite ice cream flavor? The guys that ask Obama tough questions all the time? I do not see much chance of it ever coming up.
