Journalism is a thing of the past

“Who did you vote for in the last election?” a senior female colleague asked me when I first entered the English Department of a Chicago area community college! Thankfully, in this case, I just had received tenure, because had I not, I very well would have been drummed out of their University of Chicago ghetto of political correctness when that crap all started, way back in the late 1960’s. “We don’t teach that any more. . .that’s old fashioned,” a minority female professor told me late in my teaching career. Horror of horrors, I still required my students to spell and punctuate correctly, write book reviews, develop literate 500 word essays that centered on non-social or culturally flamed theme statements.

We no longer have a “Journalism” profession. Only hubris permits the Democrat media to thinks we have and here’s a breaking news bulletin: No One Cares. Spending four years in today’s requisite left leaning colleges being taught such hateful things as Military Bad, White Men Bad, America Bad, George Washington Bad, Founding Fathers had slaves, Women Good, People of Color Good, Killing Babies Good, Men “Getting Married” Good, our “journalists” naturally perform on cue. “You have a power stronger than a bullet,” one of my 1950’s Journalism professors said. “You can kill a man with your pen; use it wisely, carefully, truthfully,” he continued. The larger transgression of left leaning bias is the uncomfortable truth that our national election results have been manipulated by liberal, agenda-driven reporters. Here on Florida’s Treasure Coast, Republican candidates have no print outlet that covers them fairly, IMHO.

Now, for the last fifty years, America’s main stream media have used their enormous power and very obvious Democrat theme statements to control our national elections. America’s Supreme Court now is our biggest political power...

I am constantly amazed at the fantasmagorical wet dreams Hollywood writers and Networks go through in treating the viewing public with thrillers about so-called journalists uncovering heinous plots and subterfuge against the common citizen. Daring do, perseverance and real journalistic investigatory prowess coupled with an appealing story that delights us all.

Horse effing pucky! Today's "journalist" is just an addressee on some political talking points blast or graduate of a liberal college where intolerance to the truth is emphasized above all else. They circulate words and phrases and catch-alls for the day in their BS spews. They are all scum, IMO.

One of the most disgusting thing so called “journalists” do now is totally not reporting on a story that doesn’t show the leftwing politics in a good light.

In many ways that is worse than spin.

That’s certainly true. They are not purveyors of truth. They are largely ideological soldiers of the left. There really isn’t any doubt to me about this.

The sad and disgusting thing in all of this is that the country has been dembed down and most people don’t see this. Up is down and down is up, good is bad and bad is good. A trangender man is celebrated for his courage. A bisexual criminal female is on the verge of becoming president. God will allow this country to be destroyed just like the roman empire was destroyed.

Went to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, IL - along one wall there were page after page of newspapers vilifying Lincoln. They were no different then with their lying and disingenuousness. http://lincolnlibraryandmuseum.com/

It should have been “For whom did you vote ...”. And it’s “derring-do.”

From a former newspaper editor ...

Re: “You can kill a man with your pen; use it wisely, carefully, truthfully, . .”

This is exactly what is being done to Dr Carson, Donald Trump, and Ted Cruz. However Dr Carson has been singled out currently as the “one to eliminate NOW.”

Within the space of two weeks, suddenly his education, his mental ability, his intelligence, his integrity, his honesty, and now because his home includes large personal awards displays, two portraits (a total of three or four walls out of how many walls in what looks like a pretty big home?) and home decor that some people don’t care for - now he is a complete narcissist?

Is it possible that the photographer carefully chose only those wall displays of Dr Carson’s awards, yet ignored wall space or displays of family and friends? Are there portraits of anyone else in the home? We’re any of the portraits we saw gifts to him from admirers or friends through the years? We don’t know. And, even if Dr Carson has an ego does that disqualify him from being president?

Obviously not. There may be political views and policy stands that do disqualify him, but that is not what is being attacked, at least not to the extent his personal character is being maligned.

I am as yet undecided which conservative candidate I will wholeheartedly support, but this out and out attempted, and alas, probably successful, destruction of this man amazes me in the swiftness and thoroughness of its execution.

Re: “They were no different then with their lying and disingenuousness.”

You are exactly right. Yellow journalism was just as rampant then as now, except that there were newspapers who openly took the side of one candidate or another, that is both political parties were represented, and, everyone knew which candidate or party a particular paper favored.

Today, as we all know, the mainstream press, TV, and news radio broadcasts are all on ONE side, on ONE party. The only outlet for conservative media are a couple of newspapers and a handful of talk-show hosts - which the liberals want to silence.

During the Civil War, Gen. William Sherman absolutely hated “journalists” and refused them access to his military campsites or any military information. Why? Because they would print how many soldiers he had, where they were, what direction they were heading - in other words, he saw them as out and out traitors who didn’t care that the enemy would freely get valuable information from their newspaper, and of course, would lead to many soldiers being killed, wounded, or captured. He saw them as scoundrels without any moral restraint.

Once, when he heard that a riverboat had capsized with a large contingent of “journalists” on board, he sarcasticly remarked that the boat must have capsized “because of all that weighty brain power onboard.”

“You can kill a man with your pen”

Lynching is a more accurate word.

On the plantation, the good master can counsel and rehabilitate transgressors of minor offenses. There is one crime, however, that cannot be overlooked or forgiven.

Leaving the Plantation uniquely deserves lynching.

The profession is largely journ-WHORE-al-ism.

Journ from the French word meaning day or daily and the al from all the Mohhammadmen who use that to tell where they are from. In short, journ-WHORE-al-ism is the daily prostitution of the press to the thugs who want to destroy Western Civilization.

In the various Comments section, I use the term "presstitutes".
