Seems Breitbart (and Drudge?) Being Paid BIG Bucks for Glowing Trump Coverage
Reaganite Republican ^ | 19 January 2016 | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 01/19/2016 3:07:14 AM PST by Reaganite Republican

How else to explain it... Mark Levin was scratching his aerodynamic dome all last week wondering how these two have evolved into such fervent Trumpster sites,
pumping Trump's disingenuous false narratives and slander against
Ted Cruz in an increasingly biased way regarding tone and substance.

One way to make sense of it all might be a long-forgotten story that Buzzfeed and Mediaite put out last August where they had former Brietbart staffers going public with accusations that
the site has been paid by the Trump campaign to ensure positive coverage (and suppression of viable rivals like Ted Cruz) from the get-go:

In a bombshell allegation, three Breitbart staffers have told Buzzfeed they believe their website is being paid by Donald Trump to provide positive coverage for his presidential campaign.

Buzzfeed's McKay Coppins reports that many staffers at the conservative website have privately complained about the website's relentlessly positive coverage of Trump. 'One current editor... said he was told by an executive last year that the company had a financial arrangement with Trump,' Coppins writes. 'A second Breitbart staffer said he had heard a similar description of the site's relationship with the billionaire but didn't know the details; and a third source at the company said he knew of several instances when managers had overruled editors at Trump's behest.'

Coppins also interviewed a 'communications operative' who claims to work closely with Breitbart. He claims the operative had conversations with multiple editors and writers confirming the arrangement, and 'one staffer claimed to have seen documentation of the 'pay for play.'

If that doesn't bother Trump supporters, there's really
something wrong with you... really. But for the rest of us, there's little surprise here.

Drudge has been more subtle about it -and nobody's come out and said anything specifically about him that I could find- however there's no doubt the hyper-influential site has been giving
The Donald a tongue bath while posting every dubious cheap shot/negative implication on Cruz that the ruthless Trump campaign could -apparently- shovel them.

Something sure stinks in the way Brietbart and Drudge have lost their neutrality/conservative-street-cred while collaborating with the left, MSM, and Trump-bots to smear a good man
-Ted Cruz- just to ride Trump's Hitler-esque wave of adoration. Maybe that's because along with NYC values, he brought his big, fat wallet.

While Drudge certainly benefits from clicks to his site generated by Trump, support for him is consistent with his personality and history. Raw populism, light on the social conservatism. Drudge was all in for Romney last time and gets along fine with northeast cheerleaders like Ann Coulter. No one buys off Phyllis Schlafley. Differerent people have different buttons, and Trump hits the right buttons with folks I offen consider allies, despite my Cruz support.

you really comparing PACs to a conservative news site? Really? That’s just silly. Nonsensical.

I don’t know about Brietbart, but Drudge isn’t hard to figure. Drudge isn’t a conservative; he’s an anti-establishment libertarian, so he’s not bothered by issues of whether Trump is pro-gay (Drudge is), pro-choice, pro-tax, whatever.

Saw this news story yesterday. Just looks like rumors and nothing else. Without named sources this story is meaningless I have been listening to breitbart radio in the mornings, I don’t think they are neccessairly pro trump. Just know they aren’t pro Hillary.

You realize that in Cruz’ case, a PAC is just a wealthy Christian donor who wants him to win?

A very common phenomenon lately on FR - I notice that many of the attackers do not have a personal page - what that means I don’t know.

In fact, personal attacks are so frequent now that on some posts it is impossible to have a reasoned discussion - or any other sort.

Some say the attackers are some species of troll or another, or maybe they are just a bunch of new people - the younger poorly educated kids that believe reasoned criticism is a personal attack, never having been taught critical thinking or self-discipline, having the absolute belief in their learned correctness on every subject under the sun, entering every discussion and turning it into an argument to be won at all costs.

Difficult as it is replying or an other sort of communication with these types only seems to embolden them, as I keep learning ...

yes, and you do realize, that a news source is NOT SUPPOSED to be that?

I guess you don’t.

That’s a pdf and not a image file so it does not post.

Please use a smaller font size in the future - giant size is very hard to read let alone follow your argument - which does not help you win whatever your point may have been. The default code font size=3 is adequate for most of us. Size 4 is OK for one or two words to make a point, but no more; larger sizes are the kiss of death as far as readability goes.

Another goofy conspiracy theory by Cruz bloggers.

Wasn’t Cruz caught doing push polls? And how about we see if any of those blogs promoting him are getting some nice cash and prizes...or let me guess, their support is actually real, right?

When the thread title starts with “seems”, you know it’s another wacko Trump theory. Just like he is in the bag for Hillary even though he has been way harder on her than Cruz or anyone else.

The level of delusion right now is pathetic.

They call everyone that supports Trump a sheep, but then demand that you support Cruz or else they will unilaterally strip away your conservative label.

They’ve already demanded that FR ban Trump supporters more than once. So the reality is that these folks are little more than pseudo-fascists and thought police at this point.

Trump earned the support he got, starting at nothing.

Cruz people feel that he is entitled to it. That’s socialism to the letter.

It’s quite entertaining seeing how divided everybody is on the candidates. I haven’t witnessed so much polarization on the conservative side like this ever.

On the demoncrats side, it’s almost every time they primary though.

YOu notice the article is “he heard or she heard” ie innuendo.

Another BS Trumpdump article to start the morning off.

Let’s assume it might be true. I like the guy even more.

Who do these people think they’re dealing with, a child?

He’s playing to win. And when he wins, contrary to Romney and McCain he will kick butt....then once he wins the presidency he will kick butt some more using what ever it takes.

That’s who I want as president, not Mr. Nice Guy.

My posts don't have my name on it, but I'd be embarrased with that kind of post forever attached to my screen name.

And I'm pretty sympathetic to Trump's candidacy, meaning I prefer Cruz, but have lots of good reasons to like Trump.
