Ben Carson blames the media for spreading false information
February 5, 2016 | Vanity

I just received the following email from "Ben Carson for President 2016":

****************************************************

"Politics is a nasty business. It's why so many Americans, including me, have been disillusioned.

Personal ambition and conflict are often valued more than honesty, substance and solutions.

I'm running for President because it's time for accountability and integrity, and the only way we can make a difference is for all of us as citizens to take a stand.

That includes holding the media to account when it spreads false or misleading information -- which is what CNN did at the start of the Iowa Caucuses on Monday night. They led people to believe I was leaving the race.

It was yet another example of creating rather than reporting the news, and it's wrong."

I’m not offended by the Cruz campaign’s retweeting as I am of this notion they are pure as the driven snow and did nothing by pass along what CNN reported. They embellished the CNN report to the advantage of their candidate and I think it’s disingenuous when they deny it.

You can't be all that offended by the Iowa rumor-mongering.

Just took a look @ your posting history since these two articles broke on Tuesday:

* Limbaugh: Rubio Campaign To Blame for Carson Drop-Out Rumors
* Uh Oh, Was Marco Rubio Guilty In The Ben Carson Dropout Rumor?

Since these articles broke by early Tues afternoon, I noticed you've commented on Rubio about 10 times -- half on threads where Rubio is in the title.

Did you happen to mention anything at all about Rubio's multiple staffers doing the same exact thing that the Carson team went after a single Cruz staffer for?

Not on your life, you didn't.

This is what is so inane about the anti-Cruzers.

Of ALL the FREEPERS who've taken Cruz to task on this, I've only found a single FREEPER who's been consistent from the get-go & went after BOTH Rubio & Cruz on it.

All the rest -- if it REALLY DID stick in their moral craw...
...and if they REALLY WERE speaking from moral indignation...
...would have tackled the Rubio campaign.

But they haven't.

Which tells me it's faux "outrage."
Selective "outrage."
Feigned "outrage."

Which, frankly, is...
...crass exploitation -- attempting ONLY to ding the front-runner.

And not very "moral," mind you.

It is not the job of campaigns to correct the blunders of other campaigns. Carson blundered and continues to blunder. By not Campaigning this week he has taken himself out of whatever contention he may have had. It is the job of campaigns to capitalize on the missteps of others. Cruz and Rubio have done so because they have organized professional campaigns.

Campaign organization and effectiveness are displays of presidential organizational effectiveness. Those that miss the opportunities laid before them demonstrate they are not organizationally effective.

It wasn't CNN that tacked the "vote for Cruz" on the end...

It's a caucus. And even if it weren't...

Carson seems to be a very nice man. He is not prepared to be president. His missteps prove this. His bewilderment at the fact that serious candidates will use his blunders to their advantage show that he is far too naive to lead a nation. He should realize by now that he is ill equipped to be president, own up to his own mistakes and bow out, gracefully.

Blaming CNN and Cruz for his bizarre vacation shows he doesn’t even realize his own mistake. Nice man doesn’t equal good president.

Cruz's people never said Carson was "dropping out". They said he was taking a break from the campaign, or "suspending campaigning" and one person said to other Cruz workers that it LOOKED LIKE Carson was out. But no one ever said he WAS out.

You are guilty of what you accuse the Cruz campaign of doing - saying they said something they never said.

From the tweets and emails I've seen, you are correct.

You offer no counter-arguments, only a feigned attempt at appearing incredulous. The CNN reports were correct. The campaigns were correct to capitalize. Carson is not ready for prime time.

every person who has dropped out of the race has used the words "suspending their campaign"..

But they didn't say he was "suspending his campaign" - they said he was "suspending campaigning".

Don't you remember when Carson went on his book tour? At least half a dozen organizations said he was "suspending" his campaign during the book tour. I don't remember Carson or any of his supporters or even any Trump supporters screaming that using word at the time was hurting the Carson campaign.

Haven't read the full thread (at work) just wanted to note on TV they said a candidate has to say "suspending their campaign" which gives them the legal way to keep their office open, pay bills, etc. until they completely drop out.

We Freepers have been saying for years that one cant believe the MSM and their slant on stories. Now you are saying Cruz campaign believed the CNN crap and its not their fault. Why would Carson tell CNN before the caucus even started that they might be calling it quits. Even Huckabee and Santorum waited to get some results first. Give me a break! Even a death of a campaign volunteer didnt end Carson’s campaign. You know they did wrong by not checking out a rumor before spreading it.

your buddies have posted that “it’s all that idiot Carson’s fault” crap all over FR for the last 3 days

you have read probably hundreds of your Cruzbot buddies posting that and you never once called them on it,, hypocrite

not one phone call to the Carson campaign did the Cruz campaign make.. not one..

they took a story that said Carson was leaving to go to Florida(not leaving the race but going home to Florida) and “then they changed the facts so they could have an excuse to try to steal the evangelical votes of Carson to Cruz.. they never had the decency to make a 30 second phone call to anybody in the Carson camp to verify the story.. they didn’t want to call because they wanted those votes more than they wanted their decency.. truly shameful

Right there is all you need to know to determine who the dirty players in this thing”

that’s fine...now where is your outrage at Rubio and Trump and Rand...they were all spreading the rumor

I’m thinking, for Ben Carson, the “media” became a “port in the storm” for a foundering campaign.

The problem is, that’s the most dangerous place to be.

BTTT.

Here is a spectacular article that I haven't seen linked on FR.

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/02/donald_trump_the_good_the_bad_and_the_ugly.html

I honestly believe that Trump is knowingly following Rules for Radicals. Alinsky taught that his devotees must fight to win at ALL costs. One of Alinsky's most important tactics was to make loud, plausible-but-false accusations incessantly against his opponents.

Note to Trump supporters: I am not saying that Trump is a communist (whereas Alinsky most certainly was). But I am saying that Trump has scarcely more integrity than Alinsky had. (Heck, if Cruz is as bad a guy as Trump has repeatedly declared, he should never say that he would entertain having Cruz as a running mate.)

Carson has taken at least 3 breaks from the campaign. He’s not a serious candidate. He’ll be like the Kenyan taking time off.
