Martha Raddatz Allows Leon Panetta to Dodge Question on Hillary Iraq Withdrawal Plan

Martha Raddatz, who was hosting ABC's This Week this morning, had a chance to score a major scoop but she blew it by failing to ask a very obvious followup question to former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. You can see the original question posed by Radddatz at the 3:32 mark of the video below about Panetta having supported a small number of American troops remaining in Iraq and where then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stood on this. This was followed by Panetta completely dodging the question on Clinton's position. However, instead of pressing Panetta on this, Raddatz avoided the obvious followup and instead went on to another unrelated question.

Sorry, Martha. You lost that very possible scoop due to failure to follow up on a question that was screaming to be answered.

Panetta signaled by his non-answer what the answer really is which Raddatz picked up on which is why she didn't press the point even though this obviously screamed out for a followup question.

I am so glad you posted this; I was looking for a media bias thread.

I am watching CNN and wanted to post this, I was planning on making a thread for it alone, but I don’t have time to respond, so I thought it would be impolite.

Brian Stelter, a CNN Senior Media Correspondent, discussing Trump’s critique of the media today, just said that, “The reality is, even if the stories are false, they are generally protected by the First Amendment.”

So false is okay in their book? What about intent??? He didn’t mention that.

They were discussing an event last spring, when Trump said he wanted to open up the libel laws to take on “purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them.... we’re gonna have people sue you like you’ve never got sued before.” LOL!

Oh, that same guy, Stelter, is now talking about a “chilling effect.” Of course.

The media has finally pushed too far and revealed who exactly they are. And the people are fed up.
