A Giant Awakened
Canada Free Press ^ | 12/04/16 | Jimmy Reed

Posted on 12/04/2016 5:42:31 PM PST by Sean_Anthony

America would prove to be: a giant awakened.

Born December 7, 1923, my father was eighteen years old on that day which will live in infamy: December 7, 1941.

When Dad learned that several thousand fellow Americans had been killed in Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, he knew what he had to do. Leaving behind a wife and baby son (me), he joined the Navy.

Two men would play key roles in those years during which my father served. One was Isoroku Yamamoto, Admiral of the Japanese fleet that pounced on the unaware and unprepared Americans at Pearl Harbor.

It is time Christians take their stand for God’s principles. If we go into hiding like after 9/11, this election was for naught.

“the sleeping giant now is China..”..........

If Trumps is successful building up American industry and can get American goods priced competitively, China’s market advantage will decline. Not good for the current “giant” as you call them

Not to derail this thread, but the shootdown of Yamamoto is one of the best stories in the Pacific War. Operation Vengeance

My father was born in July 1923. He dropped out of high school and enlisted in the navy when the war started. He was assigned to the sea bees and his bridging unit went into Normandy beach on d day plus 1.
He’s still with us.

Welcome. So many interesting parts to that story, including the aftermath of “Who gets credit”

I keep looking for a documentary on the subject . . .

Unprepared...I can agree. Unaware...that will take a certain amount of stretching to get to.

China hasn’t been sleeping. They’ve been wide awake and eating our lunch for many years.

How blessed you are! I wish my dad and father in law were still with us. They both served bravely in WWII. My dad never talked about the war, but my husband and his dad had many talks about it. As a native American, (at a time when it was dangerous to be one) he started in the CCC as soon as he was of age, then joined the army as a cook before the war started, and served as an infantryman, pretty much crawling on his belly from North Africa, to Italy, France and Germany, til he was finally wounded badly enough to be sent home right before the war ended. I look forward to seeing them both again, in Heaven, so I can thank them for what they did for their country.

Every American could die tomorrow and China with it’s 1.3 billion people would be just fine.

The giant I was speaking of wasn’t an economic giant, although it will be that too, it’s inevitable, I was speaking of a military larger than our entire population.

Trust me, that is a fight we don’t want to start no matter what “technological” edge we think we enjoy. The Spanish Armada learned the lesson of numbers vs technological advantage to hard way.
