Age is not his problem. He has always been an asswipe.

He isn’t too old. He is a mental defective. A MANCHURIAN candidate turned by the North Vietnamese and the Keating Five Scandal.

Age isn't the problem, dementia is.

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. (multiple votes using multiple internetz devices are allowed!) And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

Is John McCain too old to serve as Senator?

That decision is left to the voters, as it should be.

First note that I despise McLame as a senator.....and yes he is now senile and should resign .....

However, he served with honor in the Navy and as a POW....He refused special treatment in captivity .....

Do NOT try to re-write history or diminish the man’s history because of his political views....

Go after his current behavior, voting, and senility....there’s plenty there....

You folks are missing something regarding Scalia. We can’t count on a Republican being in the Governors mansion when they can appoint a replacement senator. Dodged the bullet with Thurmond. The good of the party should count more. Tell that to SCOTUS Ginsberg.

Amazing 46% of those polled are too senile to understand the question.

Age not the issue...its the stupidity at whatever age it is manifested.

Too bad we can’t put the issue of term limits up for a national referendum. Congress will never vote themselves term limits.

We both have reached the age where we don’t care what people say or do AND we have no obligation to be PC.

>Term limits would fix everything.

IMO, TL are but a piece of the pie that would solve a lot of issues. Add in:

- No votes nor donation of time/property/material from any entity receiving taxpayer funds (welfare of ANY type, no unions, no PACs, no...)
- No donations from outside of district (no foreign in any election).
- No lobbying from ex- critters until 5+yrs after their term.
- NO EXEMPTIONS FROM ANY LAW (no more ‘legal’ insider info/trading, etc.).
- ANY violation = immediate removal from office, termination of any/all benefits/funding/401K/SecServ/etc. and $5\violation (pegged to inflation) and the MAX penalty allowed (violation of public trust).

Give me some time noodle a few more to the list ;)

McCain never would have graduated much less got into the naval academy without his father’s name, rank, etc.
The men I served with feel like I do. Mike Benge was a civilian AID worker who became POW /captured from near the Ban Me Thout leprosarium area during Tet 68. The leprosarium was taken over by VC and NVA and a lady named Olsen plus a Reverend and others were missing. I think it was four total counting Benge. My unit was busy running cross border OPS, but; a friend of mine had the mission of freeing these civilians captured by the enemy. Frank L, who retired an LTC, only found traces where they went into Cambodia. We were limited then to 12 men in our Cambodian OPS. My point is I will never respect McCain. The POW’s/MIA families from my unit and others are given little to no help from McCain. The men captured in Laos/Cambodia and the South had it much tougher then McCain and his pals. Nick Rowe and Mike Benge tell the truth about POW experiences. No POW thinks he is a hero or uses it for personal advancement. I worked for a Major who was a POW in Korea for 1,000 days. Let me assure you he had issues from his POW days. He and I used to fish after he had a number of Martinis the night before. Those great SF NCO’s knew his past. A legendary SGM used to ask me to get him out to check on the troops training at Camp Mackall. The Major told me some stories. I do not believe any POW is not seriously affected by his captors.

You’re right. I should have said term limits will help a lot but your list and more will really go a lot farther in getting it back to the way the founders meant it to be.

These life long career politicians are really hurting us...

I respect your opinion of McCain.....he was a legacy kid for the Academy....Dad and Grandfather.....(current Admiral at the time).....if you know the Navy, you know naval traditions run deep....

My understanding of his time as a POW was that it was honorable based on written accounts by those who were there.

Since then, he has done little for Vets.......

As I stated earlier, I despise him for his views and political positions.....he’s damaged goods and most likely senile.....
