It sounds like they don't really change their genders ..that its like makeup drugs.
Military is about killing and trying not to be killed. Dickchoppers and other mentally unstable need not apply.
You'd better believe it.
Consideration of existing at the most primitive level during combat should be the default, not at the level of avoidance of breaking a nail.
President Trump is also the Commander in Chief. He does not need anyone’s permission to speak to anyone in the military. Mattis would know this and would not be offended by it.

You may be surprised at MY take on this as a (current) female (former Army) Sergeant First Class, but I agree with you 100%. Women should be allowed to serve, but NOT anywhere that they want.
I was in the first co-ed training platoon at Fort Jackson, SC in 1979, but it was d@mn TIRING dragging those boys along with us every d@mn day, LOL!
Right. And I was in the first ROTC pre Officer camp at Ft Bragg when female cadets were in camp in 1975. I saw what was going on there too, and it was a very early political correctness.

Were you on tank hill? I was on tank hill in late 1982. No coed training if I recall correctly...females were with females and guys with guys. What’s your favorite military movie?

IMHO the reason that a majority of the transgenders want to serve in the military is to access medical care. I seriously doubt that any of these vocal minorities (less than 2% of our national population) could pay for the medical treatment out of their own pocket.
But, I have an alternate proposal. If they complete 10 years of military service, including ground combat tours, they can receive 50% of their transgender operation costs upon separation/retirement. For every year beyond 10 years the payment goes up 2 1/2 %. If they complete 20 years the amount goes up to 100%.
There is no payment for sustainment medications
If they don’t complete 10 years of military service with ground combat tours they get ZERO.
This is a variation of the Uniform Spouse Protection Act when it comes to military retention/retirement pay. If it is good enough for spouses supporting their sponsors why isn’t good enough for transgenders trying to get a free ride?

The whole advocacy group is a “cargo cult” convinced that you can _be_ different if only the parts _look_ different.
“Gender change”? Not.
They’re mutilations that require ongoing maintenance to continue the illusion. Women’s bodies will continue to attempt to menstruate.
Men’s bodies will continue to attempt to ejaculate.
Key parts might be sliced out, but every single remaining cell declares its original gender, and continues to function in accordance with that natural state.
Transgendered persons who have the surgery done (addadictomy etc) are TWENTY TIMES more likely to commit suicide than non-transgendered persons. It is clearly a form of depression/anxiety/mental illness. Rush talked about his today on his show, this came from a respected M.D. who spent a large part of his career studying transgenderism. He wrote a 2015 article in the WSJ on this subject.
The problem with “transgenderism” is that the freaks who say it’s all “normal” also say it’s “normal” to want to be a woman one month, a man the next month. They call it “gender fluidity”. How the h*ll is the military supposed to function based on that?
Plus, once these neurotic/psychotic/depressed people get into the military, we taxpayers will be stuck FOREVER with paying for all their VERY EXPENSIVE elective surgeries. It is/would be a bottomless pit into which taxpayer money would be thrown.
I wasn’t on Tank Hill, that I can remember. 1979 was an experiment, but I don’t know if it was continued. Our Platoon did great - very few wash-outs that I remember. Loved my DIs; really awesome, heroic, skilled, professional men - many recently back from Vietnam. I learned a LOT from them.
I don’t really have any ‘favorite’ military movies. I like mysteries, James Bond-type action films or westerns. I’m more of a reader; anything set during WWII will always grab my attention. :)

Were you in a dorm-style building or Quonset hut? Same here (your sentiment about DIs). I’ve never forgotten some of the sayings from my DIs. You see Saving Private Ryan? It’s widely recognized as very accurately depicting combat scenes (especially the landing at Omaha Beach).
