While all sound-minded Americans await the start of college football season and the NFL, to tide us over, we are soon to have the awesome American pleasure of the Little League World Series (LLWS) to enjoy. The U.S. regionalswhich determine the eight American teams (in addition to the eight international teams) in the LLWSare complete. Today, August 17, the tournament to determine the 71st LLWS champion begins. Noticeably absent again this year: girls. Someone should write a memo.
In 1974of course, thanks to a ruling from a female judgethe Little League Federal Charter was amended to allow girls to play Little League Baseball. Since then, by my count (with the LLWS consisting of 8 teams each year from 1974 to 2000with only 4 in 1975and 16 teams annually since 2001), there have been 484 teams in the LLWS. Figuring 12 players per team (there are sometimes more and rarely less), thats at least 5,808 players in the LLWS since girls were allowed to participate.
During that time, and in spite of the fact that one in seven U.S. Little League players is a girl, only 18 girls have participated in the LLWS, including only six American girls. That means that since 1974, less than one-third of one percent of LLWS participants have been girls. All of those ignorant of human anatomy, biology, and physiologyan ever-increasing number of Americans, it seemsshould be aghast.

Pretty much sums up the whole agenda of the modern left.
Just have some of the boys, say they’re really girls.....Problem solved.
Of course! While, as the author points out, at the same time boys pretending to be girls dominate the Little League Softball World Series!
How does one spell “baseball” with a lisp?
Supposedly, girls want to be boys, and boys want to be girls...which of course is a bunch of equine excrement, promoted by idiot parents and assorted Leftist radicals. One day, common sense must prevail, or the Big Guy upstairs will solve the whole thing for us.
Uh, no offense - but that isn't my definition of a "sound mind". I haven't watched football or any sports for that matter since Vietnam.
Never saw the interest in what really amounts to a kid's game by oafs who weren't suited for anything else.
Now that we have brainless, overpaid gerbils showing disrespect to our National Anthem, I know that my original assessment was correct.
Well, if ALL the girls become boys...
And ALL the boys become girls ...
Then there is no problem. Right ?
Maybe... they don’t wanna play....
It is my understanding that teams that go to the LLWS have to “win” their way into the competition, they are not granted entry because there may be one or two girls on the teams.
(s)baseball: now with showtunes!(/s)
No girls because the teams are most often composed of the all-stars chosen from the teams that competed in the local little league. Girls have a difficult time competing with boys at 11-13 years of age.
Because the little girls are playing fast pitch softball.....Which begs the question, why aren’t there little boys on girl’s fast pitch softball teams?
He’s going to solve it anyway. One day.
Anyone who watches the Little League World Series will appreciate hugely the level of baseball skill, and sportsmanship, in the teams that make it to that level. Any true lover of the sport can see that some of those kids are just outstanding.
Obviously, if as many girls as boys WANTED to play in the Little League AND had the acumen for it, there would be more girls on more teams.
One can only hope and pray that no one is able to FORCE the Little League teams to be 50/50 boys and girls, just to satisfy diversity statistical police.
A friend of mines cousin is playing in it. He’s from Lufkin, TX.
Because no boy wants to play on the same field where everyone throws like girls...
(ducks)
Really, it is more along the lines of why would anyone watch Women’s NBA when Mens NBA is available or any mens/womens variant of a sport?
The answer is, they don’t. Given the economics of a choice with limited free time as capital, people (unless they have a vested interest such as having a daughter play a given sport or enjoy he concept of the female form in action) don’t watch female sports with the exception of things like ice skating.
I know you're just kidding......
Girls fast pitch is huge here in Michigan, and likely where you are too. I'm not a fan of baseball but I love watching girls college softball, the talent level is incredible........
As a side note, a friend of mine is an off season girls pitching coach and manager of a 13 and under girls travel team here in Michigan. His oldest daughter pitched for the University of Michigan and was a 4 year all American.......and his younger daughter is currently playing for them too.
