Freeper SunkenCiv used to regularly post fascinating and learned articles on archeologicy and history topics. But no posts from SunkenCiv that I can remember for many months. Does anyone here know what happened?

I never thought of his posts as advocacy, so much as just interesting. Heck, I can even read science fiction novels, if they are interesting!

Yeah, at one point there was a pretty good size Class of ‘98. I think the years, mortality and two or three notable purges have dwindled our numbers.

Here’s an idea, how about all of us who enjoyed his posts do some of the postings he used to do.
Let’s each of us occasionally scour the archeological and history journals on line and post interesting ones on FR.
I enjoyed his articles too.

He decided to support Hillary Clinton as he had no interest in making America Great Again. Good riddance to rubbish.
You know, I had to turn off Mark Steyn last Friday when he was filling in for Rush. My wife likes his accent. But then he started using foul language. He said “M-—t R—n-y.” I just couldn’t take it. And now someone has just said, “H-ll—y C-——n.” for shame, for shame. Whatever happened to common decency? ;-)
A lot of old hands disappeared during (or just after) the 2016 election season.
SunkenCiv is apparently one of those, though I’m not saying his departure was related to that event. It’s merely date coincident.
I received a message from Sunken Civ about his relationship with FR.

I’m sorry to say I’ve lost touch since I;m not getting return to my emails anymore.
Some of Sunken Civ’s acolytes :-) have tried to follow up by posting some archeological news but don’t have the daily dedication to hunt it down and post. Now that I see there is continuing interest in the trail Sunken Civ blazed I hope we can do better in the future.
That really is too bad. He added value to a forum about many topics. I enjoyed his threads more than the politics.
