Five days later (Obama's versus Trump's actions)
10-6-17

Let's compare the actions that occurred five days after a horrible mass murder of innocents in America of the current, and former Presidents, shall we?
To date, President Trump has been visiting the victims in hospitals, thanking them for their courage, and doing the same for law enforcement. And on the fifth day, he put out his Presidential Weekly Address:
10/6/17: Weekly Address
Compared that to former President Obama, and what he did on December 19, 2012:
On December 19, 2012, Obama announced the formation of an interagency gun-violence task force headed by Vice President Joe Biden. The task force held 22 meetings and collected ideas from 229 organizations.
Just a curious observation in the last few days.

Had anyone else remembered back after Sandy Hook what all Obama did and compared notes with this week? I'm curious if anyone else has thought the same thing lately.

Oh, please. Obama acted swiftly and decisively after every mass shooting.
He swiftly flew out to San Francisco to raise money for himself and the DNC and then he decisively flew to Palm Springs to play golf all weekend.

See? I’d forgotten about that. Thank you for reminding me.
I was kind of hoping that FReepers would post these things on this thread from their memories. That’s why I started it.

After Fort Hood, he gave a comical “shout out” to someone at the press conference before he actually mentioned Fort Hood.

Also, President Trump has yet to blame the massacre on The Crusades. Nor has he given a shout out to any local Medicine Men.
You'd think in a Wild West town like Las Vegas there'd be at least one.

Very well said, Mr. President. MAGA!
And don’t let your enemies distract you with idiotic suggestions that have nothing to do with preventing murder.

That, too. Thank you.
How many days after Fort Hood did he do that?

Amen.
I found a link on
The Gun Collective that members can use to contact the NRA's board members to voice their opinions.
Here's what I sent:
Why is it that lawful gun owners are always the ones forced to bend over when some lunatic or jihadi commits murder with a firearm?
It's always we give, they take.
They give nothing. Ever. Even if they say that they'll give us something, they lie and refuse to do so when more murders occur.
Remember Reagan's 1986 amnesty? Their, "Legalize now, enforce later," approach? Kinda sounds like the same philosophy they use for gun control: "Ban now, enforce later."
Granted, a hundred lawfully carrying Americans probably couldn't have done a thing against a monster firing from an elevated position. But if you take that process further, neither could hotel security or law enforcement during the brunt of his rampage. Perhaps artillery fire or calling in an air strike -which would be ill advised considering where the target was located.
This is not about bump fire stocks. This is not about firearms. This is about finding a deterrence for an event that has never happened before. The closest would be Charles Whitman in 1966 at the University of Texas in Austin. And it was civilian gun owners who helped law enforcement end the siege.
And I can guarantee you that this will happen again.
There are more monsters all over the world who wake up every morning wanting to murder Americans. And, they are watching this on their TVs, mobile phones, and their media outlets. They're watching and learning, looking for ways to improve the effectiveness. What they would have done to increase the body count.
The idea of elected politicians focusing on the device so they can ban it from possession only strengthens the murderers, and weakens their prey: us.
It won't be just these stocks of which I have no use for. And if they ban those, they'll find out that they can be 3D printed easily, and ban that. When they find out that they can even be built in a garage, they'll go after the means to do so.
It will never end.
The only focus should be enforcing the laws already on the books. Period.
Sorry for the rant. Sometimes my brain doesn't want to shut up.
Have a great weekend.

.22 ammo is just now returning to plentiful after 5 years.
I hope this doesn’t start another run.

I’m amazed that our nation was able to survive those years of horror.
We sure didn’t come out of it unscathed, though.
It’ll take years to undo his messes.

Dont forget Obamas first consideration was always distracting blame away from Muslims.
I wonder how loud he was when he yelled, "DAMMIT!" when he learned of this -wishing he was still in charge.
To him, and to the rest of the freedom haters, they see this as an, "Historic opportunity."
