No, seriously, this is an important question. Its like in a failing marriage: if things are beyond repair, after youve tried everything and nothing seem to work anymore, every day is exactly the same (nagging and fighting over any minute detail)and all that, its better for both spouses to go their separate ways, dont you think? The marriage example in Californias case is pretty accurate, as the former Golden State is now boasting its open defiance against the law of of the land, in this case federal immigration laws. Californias defiant behavior finally determined that sleepy elf also known as AG Sessions to do something about it, i.e. the DOJ filed a lawsuit, which blocks Californias sanctuary state laws. The purpose of the lawsuit is to establish once and for all that sanctuary jurisdictions are unconstitutional.

Cali would quickly join with Mexico so no I do not think they should be allowed independence. Better idea is to enforce the law and throw a bunch of lawless Cali pols in jail.
Give it back to May-Hee-Co, but return it to the condition it was in when we “stole” it.
Why wait for them to decide to secede? Let’s just kick them out.
Look, your original point was to off Cali as a whole and I countered with WVa, and somehow it all morphed into how much we’re assisting Israel. Israeli PMs have always acknowledged how critical US support is to Israel.
No point in going any further with this, no matter how disfunctional your all caps key might be. You obviously don’t know or understand the differences between the regions in CA.
Have a fine day.
They’ll have to recruit, train, equip and pay their OWN army, navy air core, etc., print their OWN money, set up their OWN FEMA, their OWN schools, their OWN gov’t agencies, their OWN EVERHTHING!!!etc...
It’s a bigger move than they think
Make the traitors secede from the country...we keep the land.
Geee, yet another comment that looks like it was composed by a 10 year old.
Figure that they'd be bankrupt inside a year, and give carte blanche to another country - likely China - to prop them up financially. Don't think that I'd want a heavily militarized puppet state on our literal doorstep.
Why bother!
this IS the world...180 out from reality!
We be on the clock....Tik, Tik, Tik, everything’s self-cleaning, kinda...
I am not a Free Trader. And if you think California is, try to take an orange INTO California.
The Agricultural Inspectors of California will make you eat the whole bag of oranges right there at the border station.
Try to ship milk into California. Their requirements for ANY milk has to meet the standards of the California Agricultural Board. That means that absolutely no raw milk or certain other dairy products from Wisconsin or elsewhere is allowed in.
Their market is CLOSED to outsiders, almost as rigidly as that of China.

How will the international currency markets view a sovereign nation starting out 3/4 of a Trillion in the red and cut off from the US dollar even if they tie its initially issued value to the USD?
from the link: ‘Combining all the pension funds in California and recalculating their liabilities based on the principles of finance, as opposed to governmental accounting magic, I find that the collective debts that California taxpayers owe public pension funds is $769 billion over $60,000 per California household.’
Easy to solve. Simply do a federal audit and enforce the law. That would put the entire California legislature in prison. Then enforce federal immigration laws, that would free the American tax slaves.
If they do so, the WALL must turn north at the eastern border of California, to prevent illegal entry to The United States by those who wish to Californicate us.
Why has Herr Soros not yet had an "accident"? Are we not able to get a Patriot near enough? (Self-censored)
WADR, that is yet to be seen. To the table is not automatic capitulation.
California cannot afford a peaceful secession, given the amount of Federal property (i.e., belonging to the rest of us) they would have to purchase or cede.
They can certainly attempt secession using the Laws of War, but the outcome would be, to say the least, problematic for their cause.
That works. The whole state of California isn’t nuts - there are some nice parts. We can keep those. I love the name Insanestan. That is the part of the California that is the problem.
The PLA Navy would be in San Diego and SF Bay within six months of California independence.
We cannot surrender our West Coast military facilities under any circumstances.
