The Evening Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
So, Andrew McCabe might be fired after all. That, at least, is the decision Attorney General Jeff Sessions is suddenly faced with, six days before the swamp skunk McCabe is scheduled to retire with full benefits on March 20.
The stated reason the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) gives for its recommendation to AG Sessions is that McCabe improperly leaked information related to the 2016 FBI investigation into the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal on multiple occasions. This finding was made by Inspector General Michael Horowitz during his 14 month-long investigation into FBI/DOJ wrongdoing.
Heres the irony in this situation: the OPR report accusing McCabe of leaking to the media was made public today through wait for it leaks to the media. What in the world are we to make of that? Lets face it, its not like the OPR has to this point been right on top of all the bad actors in this DOJ anti-Trump cabal that has been in action since mid-2016. Where is the OPR report on Peter Strzok? On Lisa Page? On Bruce Ohr? Any of the other already-identified bad actors?
So, why do we suddenly see this particular action on this particular day? I see three possibilities:
The OPR is full of bad actors itself, and is trying put Sessions in a situation in which he has two options, either one of which will generate media controversy. Id rule this one out, because whats a little media controversy to Jeff Sessions or the Trump Administration at this point? I mean, who really cares?; Horowitz is clearing the playing field for the pending release of his report by starting to roll out a series of administrative recommendations based on his findings to discipline bad actors; or This is an isolated situation, and the OPR is simply acting in the normal course of business on the only recommendation it has thus far received from IG Horowitz. Wait. There is a fourth possibility, which is that McCabe was originally escorted from the premises in February but not technically fired as a way of giving him a carrot to cooperate with the IGs investigation and other DOJ investigations into various Obama-era scandals that we know to be ongoing. In this scenario, he is now facing the likelihood of termination and loss of retirement benefits because he has refused to become a cooperating witness. Todays leak to the media would be designed to put further pressure on him to cooperate.
Also in this scenario, we havent seen any similar firing recommendations on Strzok, Page, Ohr or others because they are cooperating with those investigations.
Occams Razor would dictate that Option 3 is most likely to be true, because it is, at least on the surface, the simplest explanation. But when you think below the surface, that doesnt really explain why it is that bad actors who have been publicly identified by the AG and IG themselves Strzok, Page and Ohr remain employed at DOJ and the FBI, though in reassigned positions, and have had no similar OPR report against them leaked to the press.
The only two scenarios that take all of that into account are Option 2 and Option 4. Just for fun, Ill go with number 4. Well know for sure soon enough.
That is all.

You are aiming low. Sessions has a boss and on his desk it used to say “The Buck Stops Here.”
Who the hell knows.
Isn’t Sessions recused from anything campaign related? Is this campaign related?
“If all of the top men/women were fired and lost their pensions...”
Thats what there all in there for that and trying to be to clever by half in sand bagging Trump.
“Isnt Sessions recused from anything campaign related?”
It seems like he is recused from everything.
I think you pretty much nailed it.
Four!
Sessions, PLEASE do your job and fire him and put him in the can!
#FireMcCabe
The Sessions b**t lickers are delutional.
Live by the leak, die by the leak. Sounds very Trumpian to me, rather karmic.
Isnt Sessions recused from anything campaign related? Is this campaign related?
He’s excused from anything related to Russia collusion. This is not related to that - it’s related to the Clinton email scandal. The decision belongs to Sessions.
Thank you for the reply.
Sessions did indeed recuse himself from the Clinton e-mail scandal. He did so directly to Sen. Grassley. There is no doubt whatsoever. Transcripts and vids have been posted many times on FR.
