So now they are gonna get military base passes? How is that going to work? Pool access? Food?
We just became eligible for those several years ago but we haven’t used them yet.
There are dozens perhaps 100’s of empty military bases all over the USA. Some of them still have WWII style barracks. Ft. Picket in VA is one. The ones in this plan are closer to the Mexican border.
I think this deal is arranged because most posts and bases have an abundance of open property. You could sit up a 20 acre camp with fencing in a matter of three weeks (tents, dining, security, etc). None of these kids will be leaving their tent-city, and I’m guessing at least two fences, with guards walking to ensure they stay right there.
You have to agree on one factor....the US military knows how to run a tent-city. More than enough practice.
