We are seeing a shift from the old idea that all politics is local to one where the only politics is the overthrow of the government. Recent stories and comments suggest a large number of voters are not discussing property taxes, jobs, infrastructure improvements, and other issues of local interest. Instead, they increasingly promote the need to elect Democrats so that a Democrat-controlled Congress can impeach the president and then move to remove Cabinet secretaries and Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh. What they could not accomplish two years ago, keeping Trump out of the White House, they want to do now by removing him from office before the end of his term.

If the Dems win the House it will be uglier than what they did to BK and his family.
What’s their strategy for getting 67 votes to convict in the Senate?
The GOP will likely hold if not gain in the Senate and at best the Democrats might gain a slim majority in the House. Any hope of impeachment is gone though with a Democrat held House there will be endless investigations repeating the maniacal witch hunts of the Kavanaugh hearings. GOP gains in the Senate will be in no small way a reaction to the smear attacks and raving lunacy of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing. The American people will soon grow sick of the endless House hearings and will voice their displeasure by re-electing Trump in 2020
I hope so, but if this is close ( and handful of seats in The House) then I expect a string of court challenges in the States. Then we’ll be treated to endless protest trying to sway the judicial process or various Secretaries-of-States into flipping those elections. We may not know who will control the House for weeks.

The house can impeach until the cows come home, but the senate will never convict.
