Lori Loughlin sentenced to two months for college admissions scandal

Former “Full House” TV star Lori Loughlin was sentenced to two months in jail Friday for admittedly conspiring to pay a half-million-dollar bribe to get her two daughters into the University of Southern California as fake rowing recruits.

A federal judge in Boston OK’d the plea deal for Loughlin, 55, who was implicated with designer husband Mossimo Giannulli in the nationwide college admissions scandal.

Giannulli had been sentenced earlier Friday before the same judge and will serve five months behind bars.

The couple were accused of paying $500,000 to scheme mastermind Rick Singer to falsely portray their daughters, social media “influencer” Olivia Jade Giannulli, 20, and Isabella Rose Giannulli, 21, as talented rowing crew athletes — even though neither of them ever participated in the sport.

As part of the pair’s sentences, Loughlin — an actress best known for portraying the wholesome “Aunt Becky” on the sitcom “Full House” in the late 1980s to the mid-1990s — will pay a $150,000 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

The Italian-born Giannulli — founder of the multimillion-dollar clothing brand “Mossimo” — will pay a $250,000 fine and serve 250 hours of community service.

Their sentencings bring to a close the celebrity couple’s galling, made-for-TV legal drama, for which they’d faced a decade or more in jail had they lost at trial.

Thankfully she may not do a day. Between Covid and overcrowding in California jails, she’ll never do the full 2 months. Felicity did 11 days, but that was pre- covid.

Why did she get less time than her husband?

Because the guy is always guiltier.

If her kid couldn’t get in on ability then she’s not doing him or her any favors.

The most ridiculous part of this story is that the parents paid bribes to get their kids into these schools, but then by all accounts the kids did fine in school. As far as I’m concerned, the biggest “crime” these parents committed is that they exposed the whole college application, admission and enrollment process as a giant fraud.

will pay a $250,000 fine

This is a teeny fine, anyone ever wonder where the multi million/billion fines go to?

The ‘political crime’ is colleges & universities taking private endowments in exchange for admitting the offspring of the giver. It’s completely legal bribery. This is a big-story because USC is upset that Loughlin & Husband didn’t pay the toll to THEM to get their below-average daughters into the school.

“They didn’t give donations in a manner that would’ve let the people at the top skim their fair share of the graft.”

That is exactly right. All they had to do was give that money to one of the building programs.

But, but ... they let violent criminals out of jail because of covid, but they're going to lock these two up?

Now are we gonna move on to all the politicians whose dumbass kids, that couldn’t get into community college (not that there’s anything wrong with that), and end up in Ivey league schools for nothing? At least she bribed somebody, isn’t that punishment enough?

Agree. Bammy’s kid and those of other politicians aren’t at Harvard for their intelligence.

My sentiments exactly. Here’s a woman who likely never committed a crime in her life. I was frankly outraged when I saw it on TV today. Why does she have to go to jail when every crook we can all name and most guilty of treason are running free.
