Mitch McConnell and the Missus: Lucrative Uncut Apron Strings to China???

In my observation, it's always a mistake when children don't cut the apron strings and it's definitely a mistake in the case of Mrs. Mitch McConnell aka our Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao. Even at the age of sixty-seven, she's still financially and politically tied to the apron strings of her still-deeply-involved-with-China father, James Chao, which is how Mitch has found himself so fabulously wealthy and accused of being in bed with China as well.

In addition, Elaine's sister, Angela Chao, who according to the World Tribune was "named to the Bank of China’s board of directors" was also previously a member of "the board...of...China State Shipbuilding Corporation, CSSC Holdings, which is a subsidiary of the largest defense contractor in China."

Despite their 1961 immigration to the US, the Chao's-cum-Mitch are still involved, invested, employed in/with/around China.

The apron strings have not been cut and very lucrative apron strings they are too but multi-millionaire Mitch McConnell probably wouldn't want you to know that!

At the beginning of his political career, Mitch McConnell was described by biographer Alec MacGillis as "a moderate Republican who supported abortion rights and public employee unions" but later became (gasp! horror!), "the embodiment of partisan obstructionism and conservative orthodoxy on Capitol Hill." Or as we prefer to call it, "Saving our republic from complete devastation by those two bonny Irish lads, O'Bama and O'Biden."

Now the pendulum seems to have swung back as Mitch publicly accepted Joe Biden as the Heir Apparent from the floor of the Senate saying, "The Electoral College has spoken. So I want to congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden. I also want to congratulate the Vice-President-Elect, our colleague, Kamala Harris, the first female" blah-blah-blah. (I don't appreciate pandering based on gender.)

If he'd wanted to piss off the patriots, he couldn't have done better! His words (which patriots feel were treasonous), swiveled the patriots' spidey-sense back to Mitch's matrimonial links to the Red Dragon via his own darling but insatiably ambitious "tiger wife," Elaine Chao. (Wikipedia's phrase: not mine.)

At first blush, there seems to be nothing amiss.

Elaine Chao was born in Taiwan, moved with her family to the United States at the age of eight and became a naturalized American citizen at nineteen. One would be inclined to assume that having observed Communism first hand, she would be even more patriotic and passionate about America than those of us who were born here and are thus inclined to take our freedoms foregranted.

But you'd be wrong. To understand Mitch, look at Elaine. To understand Elaine, look at her papa, James Si-Cheng Chao.

According to the Trump-hating site, DailyKos, and the South China Morning Post, James Chao's connections to China were never severed despite his immigration to the US.

Through his college friend, Jiang Zemin, who became a ranking "member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party," James Chao "placed an order for two [Foremost Group] ships to be built at the state-owned shipyard in Shanghai during Jiang's tenure there as mayor" and "started meeting Mr Jiang regularly, including three months after the Tiananmen Square crackdown in 1989, when most other American businessmen were avoiding the leadership."

The next generation of Chao's continues those connections to great personal gain.

According to the DailyKos, "Since ]Elaine] Chao became the Secretary of Transportation, the family shipping business has added 10 vessels to its fleet, an increase of 40%." It's a Cabinet position that, against the advice of "government and legal ethics expert, Kathleen Clark," Elaine ostentatiously flaunts in her dozens of appearances on Chinese media, in which she often includes her father, with the DoT flag prominently in the background.

In a 2017 interview with Sean Hannity, at minute 1:50 Chao clearly says, "So, basically, we allow foreign...we allow, different kinds of money, private sector money, to come into the United States, I'm not saying foreign, to come and fund a bridge or a road or it can be, um, any kind of infrastructure. By the way, I should also add, that the President's initiative for infrastructure will include, probably, energy, water, broadband..."

I dunno about you, but if you add to that the seaports California sold to China, it kinda sounds like Elaine intends for China owns us, infrastructure-wise, from sea to shining sea. And wasn't there something about tolls so we can pay "not foreign" countries for the privilege of traveling on our own roads in our own land!

And speaking of broadband, conveniently "Chao had failed to list Multacom in official disclosure documents filed before taking up her role in the Bush-2 cabinet."

What is Multacom, you ask? According to the South China Morning Post, "The company runs direct Internet links between the mainland and the US in a joint venture with China Unicom."

When you combine that information with the fact that Dominion voting machines are indeed wireless and internet capable with McConnell's 2019 squelching of two voting security bills an ugly picture emerges.

According to Newsweek, "The [bills] would likely burden the two largest electronic voting machine vendors in the United States, Election Systems & Software and Dominion Voting Systems, with new regulations and financial burdens. Together, the companies make up about 80 percent of all voting machines used in the country and both have far-reaching lobbying arms in Washington D.C. Many of those lobbyists have contributed to the McConnell campaign, reported Sludge last month, an investigative outlet that focuses on money in politics."

Over to Sludge we go where we read the following:

"Brownstein Hyatt Farber and Schreck lobbyist David Cohen, who lobbies for Dominion Voting Systems on issues related to election security and monitors federal legislation for the company, gave McConnell $2,000 on March 31: $1,000 to his campaign committee and $1,000 to his joint fundraising committee. Lobbyist Brain Wild, who works alongside Cohen on the Dominion contract, gave McConnell $1,000 on the same day."

I s'pose that's chickenfeed to someone like Addison Mitchel McConnell Jr whom Open Secrets approximated as being worth a cool $34,137,534 back in 2018 but it's still...something. It opens him up to questions and allegations.

And how did he get so fabulously wealthy on a Senator's salary anyways? Oh, Papa Chao. How much of the $5-$25 million, "James Chao gave Mitch McConnell...that more than quadrupled his net worth overnight" was a no-apron-strings-attached love gift and how much was a bribe?

Vote as Chao says or else? It's just a wild idea but Mitch never did explain all those facial and hand bruises from October 23rd.

Was Mitch ever a Republican? A true conservative? Did Mitch ever have his own belief system or was his vote always on the auction block going-going-GONE to the highest bidder?

My mama used to tell me, "Avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing, even if you're not actually doing anything wrong."

If Mitch isn't actively working for China, he sure is giving the appearance of wrongdoing...bigly!

Strange that the Chao family is so closely tied to China, seeing as they emigrated from Taiwan to the United States when Elaine was 8 years old.

The Taiwanese I know can't stand mainland China.

The supposed animosity between Taiwan and Mainland may be exaggerated a bit - much like the myth of “communist China.”

Those dominion machines probably went the highest bider. Probably why Biden cant understand the resistance to his election. He thinks he bought it fair and square.

There is a CHICOM spy in the Trump administration.
It’s probably McConnel’s wife.
I can’t think of any other reason why she would marry the TURTLE.

perspective is important. facts are important.

chao is one of the cabinet secretaries that DJT stuck with for his entire term. I believe she is in the minority in that regard.

Wife: Mitchee you have to refuse Trump. I was told you have to do it.

Mitch: Why? What’s up?

Wife: I was told from high up, Mitchee. You have to go against Trump.

Mitch: But people will think you’re extorting me. People will think that you’re like Fang Fang and I’m like Sowell.

Wife: Mitchee, I’m not like Fang Fang and you’re not like Fart Fart.

Mitch: I can’t, I simply can’t.

Wife: If you don’t do it... I won’t do that thing you like in bed. You know what I’m talking about, Mitchee. I won’t be nice to you in bed and do that special thing you like. You will be soooo sad.

Mitch: Yes, I will be sad,

Wife: So, Mitchee, you will do it?

Mitch: Yes, I will do it. (sigh)
