Our government is thoroughly corrupt, self-serving and steadily losing confidence of the people. It is, as you say, a bunch of sellouts and embezzlers.
Our government has become everything the Founding Fathers warned us about and tried to prevent.
Sadly both parties are in on it, leaving us with no other choice than to form a new one that stands for the preservation of the values and principles that made the country great.

He knew he didn’t have constitutional authority to do anything. Biden does, too. But he’s said he will talk to Gov’s (who do have the power) to push them into mandates. How many of us trust our Governor’s to do the right thing & tell him to buzz off?

What is important here is that we’re toes -off the cliff into a dystopian nightmare.

These folks are in medicine and are type A controllers. They wanted to have adult children over for Christmas and have them sit outside. It was too cool apparently.
What did we do pre-Covid? During the age of polio, we changed into our play clothes after school, washed hands snd face before eating, and wore gloves a lot, especially when using handrails; I took the vaccine and remember seeing people who’d had polio.
In a hospital or in very close quarters in medical offices I can see the value.of masks. At a spa or the like, ok. I’ve long said that if you go to a hospital and aren’t sick, you’ll get sick. Ditto for air travel, which has led me to getting sick.
But for use everywhere? No. I’d prefer some kind of invention with light, like automatic doors with it.
The lockdown was supposed to prevent overwhelming hospitals, not prevent commerce and gatherings. What we have now is tyranny.
I’m a big fan of UV-c light, used in surgery cleaning and on naval vessels for the same reason.
