I didn’t go to the link but agree with the author fully with excerpt posted
Hunker up, people.
The American character ain’t what it used to be. We have become a docile and unquestioning people.
Our legislatures don’t want to assume any responsibility either. They are weak and subservient to governors and bureaucracies.
I don’t know how many times this needs to be said, but here we go again...
Masks do not prevent YOU from getting covid. They are a measure, only a measure, that you don’t give OTHERS your spit and breath in an attempt to protect THEM.
If you can breathe without an air supply, you’re gonna get covid. If people can hear you speak through the mask then that mask isn’t going to filter out covid.
Idiots wear mask when they are walking down the street. When they jog, when they ride bikes and even when they are behind the wheel alone (Or with someone else).
The most significant thing a mask does is send a message to those around you that you are considerate. Or, if misused (used in the above examples by mask-fanatics or kept below the nose and chin by mask-rejectors) you send the message that you’re an idiot.
People are being idiots on both sides of the argument but when you keep the whole thing in perspective it couldn’t be easier.
Mafia tactics help
It works both ways. A 25% reduction (or whatever positive number you agree with) is better than 0%. Very simple math.
Yes, too many have become very docile. But if Biden takes office & convinces Governors across this country to institute some ridiculous lockdown for another 100 days, or make mask-wearing mandatory, we need to be ready to protest as the author suggests. If FReepers gathered with friends & neighbors in groups of 20 or more & started holding walk-in protests, the rest might wake up a bit. At least we’d screw up the court system with lots of stupid arrests for no crime.
People enjoy being sheep and that dog is working fo the man!
The article states that America is on the verge of financial collapse. That may be what it takes to wake people up because nothing else seems to. Nothing gets peoples’ attention like financial pain and distress.

We pay taxes:
Income, sales and property taxes!
We must have licenses for:
Driving, fishing, firearms, hunting, automobiles all of which expire and have to be renewed= more money!
Government oversight and permits (more money).
Medicine, hospitals and pharmacy.
Education.
Transportation. Airlines, railroad.
Building construction.
Federal, State and local government get our money anyway they can!!!!!
that’s a very real motivator
Kamala looks better with the muzzle on.
No, 2015 tests in Southeast Asia sponsored by WHO showed decisively that surgical masks stop <50% of ordinary expelled breath (containing virions) and cloth masks <5%.
Masks are absolutely worthless in stopping transmission in or out of the mask surface. Yes, they stop droplets expelled during a cough. But, most expelled particles are too small.
Mask enforcement is a purely psychological and political ploy.
If FReepers gathered with friends & neighbors in groups of 20 or more & started holding walk-in protests, the rest might wake up a bit.

It might be tough to get friends and neighbors to put down their remote TV control, get off the couch and rally for freedom. I ran into that problem back in the Tea Party days.
Despite all the pleas and demands, it is not arguable that masks have done little if anything. There is not one state or city, that by having the population wears masks, has shown any drop in infection. Not one. And it seems quite obvious that by reusing a mask you are simply re-exposing yourself to whatever you walked through earlier.
I may walk through a room with virus particles and get a few inhaled. But when I leave the room, I leave it behind. A mask wearing person under the same conditions takes the virus with them and unknowingly exposes themselves over and over.
We taxpayers provide a very comfortable and secure life for politicians and government bureaucrats. They want to keep the system working for them.
