The New York Times is defending their editorial board member who called American flags “disturbing.” Their staff member, Mara Gay, caused a firestorm after her appearance on MSNBC Tuesday.
“I was on Long Island this weekend visiting a really dear friend, and I was really disturbed. I saw, you know, dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with explicatives [sic] against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and in some cases just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing … Essentially the message was clear: This is my country. This is not your country. I own this,” Gay said.

Gay went on to trash white people and “whiteness.”
“I think that as long as they see Americanness as the same as one with whiteness, this is going to continue,” she said, adding that many people don’t understand the “danger” of “whiteness.”
“That is the real concern. Because, you know, the Trump voters who are not going to get onboard with democracy, they’re a minority. You can marginalize them, long-term. But if we don’t take the threat seriously, then I think we’re all in really bad shape,” Gay said.
In response to the outrage, the New York Times released a statement claiming that people defending the flag are acting in “bad faith.”
Well, New Yorkers decided to teach the liberal reporters and the mainstream media a lesson on how you respect your country and flag!
After technical issues, 14,000 Islanders fans decided to sing the National Anthem together.
Nicole Raviv who was singing the national anthem wrote this on her Twitter page:

Was Mara Gay “disturbed” when a NYC theater company put on a performance of “Julius Caesar” and had Trump portrayed as Caesar so he could be ritualistically “murdered” on stage?
She’s the same idiot who thought Michael Bloomberg could have taken the $350M he spent on his failed presidential campaign and ‘given everyone in America $1M.’
Not only is the flag racist, but so is elementary-level math, apparently.
Vexiphobia is what you’d call it when someone has an irrational fear of flags. I imagine there is a treatment plan for this...somewhere.
You probably get handed a flag pole or two, and do five or six hours of marching in the sun.
My son and I went to the NASCAR race at Sonoma Raceway last Sunday. There were acres and acres of RVs, almost every one with a huge flagpole flying Old Glory at top followed by various state flags, Gadsden flags, and NASCAR team flags. There was a stiff wind on Sunday, so al the flags were smartly flapping or flying horizontally. It was quite a sight to see.
When the Star Spangled Banner was played before the race, there was one sole cretin about 30 seats away from us standing and giving a fist salute. My son and I were shaking our heads about why such an America-hating bastard would go to a NASCAR race. He sat alone and never had a friend join him. What a sorry sicko.
This happened in Canada once too. Hockey game between a US team and Canadian team in Canada. US national anthem wouldn't play so the mostly Canadian crowd sung it.
The NYT hires people because they hate the USA, not for their talent. The “Gay” thing is one, Weijia Jiang is another.
Her comments say a lot more about her than they do about the folks with the flags
I suppose most of these “writers” have various psychological mental disorders to think the way they do but I do have a suspicion that many write contrarian and to evoke reaction while getting acceptance and accolades in the leftist /globalist echo chamber. They make a very good living doing it.
Her cultural appropriated whitey straight hair is disturbing.
She is an editor at the times and she uses the word: “Expicatives” I guess that would be a very explicit expletive.
I like how nearly all entitled black women who rise inexplicably rapidly in organizations lack the self awareness to realize that they are being treated exceptionally well and instead decry the company, the system, the nation all racists out to get her.
