I’m not sure why Shukairy is relevant, he’s been dead almost 42 years, and he said this 56 years ago. My bet is that most Palestinians don’t even know who Shukairy was. He was just a Nassar appointed puppet and was recognized as such even in 1965.
Shukairy is chief inventory in early 1960s of such an ID as “Palestinian” - as a “separate” Arab group..

Found an old article elsewhere on FR where Ahmed Shukairi offered support to the Vietnamese Liberation Front.
I knew they were jacking around with the Sandinistas in Nicaragua but didn’t realize the PLO was reaching out in Southeast Asia as well.

U. S., Mid-East React To PLO-Viet Cong Link Sen . Kennedy Calls For Aid Cut ; Nasser, Hussein Clash Over Camps
NEW YORK, (JTA) — The announced intention of the Palestine Liberation Organization to send Arab refugee recruits to fight with Viet Cong guerrillas against American troops in South Viet Nam touched off shock waves this week in Washington and in Jordan, Egypt and Syria.
After the United States asked for detailed reports on the activities of the FLO, and the Senate Subcommittee on Refugees indicated it might hold hearings on issues arising from United States support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the refugees.
Sen. Edward Kennedy, chairman of the subcommittee, reiterated in New York his proposal that Arab refugees in the Palestine Liberation Army be removedfrom UNRWA relief rolls.
Speaking at a dinner of the Brandeis University trustees, the Senator estimated there were between 10,000 and 14,000 refugees in the PLO army and that all of them were receiving food and supplies from UNRWA.
Sen. Kennedy said it was incompatible with United Slates policy and with the fundamental concept of the United Nations to supply aid in any way to members of any army whose purpose is to work against a member nation of the United Nations . The announced goal of the PLO army is to liberate Palestine. He also cited other substantial abuses in the UNRWA operation in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt.
In an address over Radio Amman, King Hussein of Jordan called for dissolution of the Arab refugee camps in Jordan and integration of the camp residents into their countries of refuge.
He also announced a total break with the PLO, calling it an extremist group and warning that stringent measures would be taken against PLO supporters in Jordan.
A high official of UNRWA in Beirut said that it would be difficult to eliminate from UNRWA rolls those refugees training in the PLO army. He said that some get their training in the daytime and return to the UNRWA camps at night.
He also said that the UN agency has been discussing the problem with the Governments of Syria and Egypt.
President Nasser of Egypt re sponded to King Hussein's warnings with an indirect attack on the Jordan monarch.He declared in a speech that Egypt could no longer look forward to Arab coexistence with reactionary Arab states. Nasser placed the Arab fight against Israel in second place, behind the struggle for Arab progressivism. He declared that Arab reactionary elements could not march with progressive forces, even if the road leads to the liberation of Palestine , because progressive forces see in the reactionaries a danger even greater than Israel itself. Reports received by the United States in Washington indicated that Ahmed Shukairy, chairman of the PLO, met this week in Cairo with the Ambassador of North Viet Nam to continue consultatations on the participation of some members of the Palestine Liberation army in training in guerrilla warfare in Viet Nam.

In the 1930's Arab terrorists and “guerrillas” waged a continuous war against Jewish settlements in Palestine : arson , destruction of wells and pipelines , and murder . Then as now, they were part of the apparatus of "Arab liberation."
It was with the active propaganda and financial support of the Nazis and Fascists that Haj Amin El Husseini , Mufti of Jerusalem and Nazi propagandist , advocated mass murder of the Jews . Ahmed Shukeiri, present head of the so - called Palestine Liberation Organization, is a large landowner, an unmistakable heir of the revanchist chauvinism of the pro-Nazi Arab, who dares to proclaim himself leader of a national liberation struggle and offer "support" to the Vietnamese Liberation Front.
One day the head of the reactionary Syrian delegation to the United Nations, another day leader of the Saudi Arabian delegation , on yet another day he heads "guerrilla war" against Israel, a war against individual citizens, with "guerrillas" who never dare attack a military force, a “guerrilla force” which is, in fact, not a guerrilla force at all but a band of mercenaries in the pay of a foreign power, Egypt.

It's important because it shows that your buddies in the PLO were Commies waaaay back in the day, even when people thought they were "reactionary" and that they were going to save Rhodesia and South Africa from a big bad Israeli invasion. Remember that? Sure you do.
Also the PLO was being feted in Havana a year before the Six Day War, when all the Communist countries still had diplomatic relations with Israel (and Cuba had diplomatic relations with Israel until 1973). Yet you and your Jewish liberal counterparts insisted that Israel was "the Cuba of the Middle East" and that the Commies would never support poor virtuous little Arabs.
How in the world anyone can make genetics the most important thing in the universe is beyond me. So, do you not believe in G-d, or do you claim the Jews aren't really Israelites, or do you claim that "white western aryan man" has a "gxd" other than HaShem? It has to be one of those three.
BTW, even Robert Welch, the founder of the John Birch Society (of which I was once naively a member) labeled Nasser a Communist and a puppet of Moscow.

The chairman of the [corresponding] political committee, Mr. Selim Sarper, reprimanded the representative of Syria, Ahmed Shukeiri, when he remarked in his speech that it would not be long before Israel reaches a situation where the United Nations will recognize the appointment of an international Jewish commissioner for the elimination of Israel’s muscles. Among other things, Shukeiri offered the Jews 60 million shoot if they leave the Land of Israel.”
