Will the new Disinformation Governance Board be forced to label mockery of it as disinformation? They might have to because at this point there is such widespread mocking of that new section of the Department of Homeland to Security that it could well be laughed out of existence. One measure of how popular the mockery of what is being called the updated "Ministry Of Truth" is that even Politico is laughing at it.
On Friday, Politico's senior media writer, Jack Shafer, demonstrated his libertarian streak by ripping that new squad to shreds in "Biden’s Hopeless Disinformation Police."

One caveat is that Jack Shafer seems to think that reporters won't accept the decisions of the Disinformation Police. I guess he overlooked the willingness of outlets such as MSNBC to embrace such decisions when conservative sources are cited as disinformation. In fact, I am sure that most at MSNBC would gladly act as Disinformation Police stenographers.

At the time this was first reported, my first reaction was that it stunk as misdirection.
Today I’m more convinced than ever that this is a distraction.
The obvious questions need not be listed, but it warrants continued vigilance.

Any news organization that had to pay a settlement to Nick Sandmann is guilty of disinformation. And not to put too fine on point on it, but it’s intentional disinformation. That is, disinformation through intentional lying.
