Noam Chomsky said earlier this week that former President Donald Trump is the “one Western statesman” who has laid out a “sensible” proposition to resolve the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Trump could probably pull it off. But . . .
It would be the height of humility and integrity for Biden to ask. Ergo, impossible.
And the Ukes gave up their nukes. Trump raised some apparently useful points. However, unless proposals address the fact that Putin’s goal is to rob the Ukes of their oil and gas reserves, negotiations will not succeed. I wonder if Chomsky and others proposing negotiated solutions are even aware of Putin’s quest to conquer the oil and gas areas of Ukraine, thus maintaining a near monopoly of oil and gas supplies to Europe?
