An Australian Memorial Tree Planting

During World War One, George Pentreath, a schoolteacher in Eurack in Southeast Australia, planted what was probably the first ever Avenue Of Honor to show respect for local men going to war. A line of trees planted evenly spaced along one side of the road in front of the school. The school is gone but nearly all the Dutch elm trees survive.

Many Avenues Of Honor were planted in country towns and cities across Australia in subsequent years.

Remembering the past and preserving what is good (Ron Paul's definition of conservatism) is essential to our future.

As it becomes increasingly difficult to do anything conservative in public spaces, I have switched my own interest in memorial tree plantings to people's homes.

This tree planting took place 145 kilometers away from my home in mostly leftist Melbourne.

Country people are fantastic.

Melbournites are scared of doing stuff like this.

It is a police state.

“Country people are fantastic.”

Applies right here in America, and my birth place in SK, canada. It’s about freedom, living far away from leftwing major cities. And it is patriotic to honor veterans.
