President Trump Crushes Ron DeSantis in Head-to-Head Poll, 67% -vs- 20% With Hispanic Voters

The latest YouGov poll [raw data here] shows why FL Gov Ron DeSantis is about to make the biggest political mistake of his career by launching a challenge against Donald Trump. If you listen to the professional media pundits who give, and attempt to sway, opinion – and if you listen to the statements from the professional Republican class that wants to remove Donald Trump from the party, you will hear this general talking point:

“The Republican Party needs to appeal to a younger, more ethnically diverse audience to maximize the ‘big tent’ size of the party.”…

There are many current variations of this talking point, but generally speaking this ‘big tent new Republican Party‘ message is what you hear from the Karl Rove, Nikki Haley, Chris Sununu, Mitch McConnell, Ronna McDaniel and the entirety of the cocktail class Republican circuit. It is a common talking point amid all the professional pundits.

However, to point out the nonsense of their argument, if we take them at their word, what we find in almost every Republican poll demographic Donald Trump’s biggest base of support is younger, less wealthy, working class voters of every ethnicity. As outlined in the YouGov Poll cited, Donald Trump literally brings to the GOP exactly what they claim to want. Yet these professional Republican voices use their talking point to frame a narrative against Trump.

Trump is running in '24. Desantis will get crushed if he tries to go against Trump.

I predict that you will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24.

Get used to the idea.

Where else are you going to go?

For a lot of people on the margin, staying home will be an option. Winning CPAC and winning the nation are two different animals.

Absolutely right, I will vote for Trump if he wins the nomination. I’ll vote for any Republican over Biden. I’ll vote for any Republican over any Democrat, always.

Maybe now with the polls showing a huge lead over DeSantis in the primaries, DJT can shut up about DeSantis and start taking down Democrats.

And Trump will lose to any tomato can Democrat by 10. I know, I know “But they will cheat”. Never understood that line of reasoning. Let’s go all Trump but they will steal and he will lose anyways. Sounds like the definition of pyrrhic. But most people who are like that have fetal alcohol syndrome anyways.

I have actually seen quite a few posters here regurgitate the latest GOPe talking point described in this article.

True. Hillary was asleep in 2016. She expected to coast to a coronation.

The Dems were no longer asleep in 2020. Nor will they be in 2024. There will be no repeat of 2016. Whoever the GOP nominates had better have an updated plan for victory.

I think 81 million “votes” in ‘20 was peak election fraud. I think Trump will far surpass that 81 million and beat the fraud. No one else has a chance.

They will cheat no matter who the republican party runs. The media will say “insert candidate here” is a racist, homophobic, misogynist who eats babies for breakfast and kills kittens for sport. It’s who they are and it’s what they do.

DeSantis will torpedo his political future if he tries to run against Trump. I hope he’s smarter than that.

is that a cute way of saying the Dems would have manufactured 100 million votes if they had to? ...

Well, their voter fraud machine was certainly improved by 2020.

But they also deplatformed many conservatives from social media, thus limiting Trump's ability to have his message go viral.

Regardless of who the GOP nominee is, 2024 will be harder than 2016. Harder even than 2020.

Im not so sure of that .... I wouldn't be surprised to see the Deep State fix the election so a republican “politician” could win and he/she could fire a few top people in ALL the alphabet agencies (with pensions of course and not convict anyone of treason).. and pretend the deep state was dismantled by a “partisan” republican.. and the Banana Republic of the United States could continue to exist.

ONLY TRUMP would do the cleaning out of ALL the treasonous ba$turds that need to go to prison...IMHO anyway

“Maybe now with the polls showing a huge lead over DeSantis in the primaries, DJT can shut up about DeSantis and start taking down Democrats”

I’m tired of some Freepers saying that Trump should be only talking down the Dems that he already does all the time anyway, just like he did at CPAC; and how he should lay off of Pubs while going after the Dems alone.

It’s the PUB PRIMARIES, for heaven’s sake. That’s when your competitors are fellow Pubs in case you folks haven’t noticed. That’s when the battles are between Pubs running for office, not primarily against Dems. What part of PRIMARIES do all of you not understand?

Trump is doing exactly what he needs to do right now, and that’s to defeat or fend off other Pubs that might or are very likely to be running against him. Geez, how stupid is it this chant like a mantra of how Trump should only be concentrating on going after the Dems when that’s not the current program at all. It’s locking in the PRIMARIES and defeating any Pub opponents he might have; that’s where the battle is.

Again, I reiterate, Trump attacks Dems all the time; that doesn’t mean that attacking Dems and going after Pub opponents in the Primaries are mutually exclusive. They are not. Trump can chew gum and rub his belly at the same time, and he is doing just that. Unless you all don’t understand the concept of Primaries and how they work, or are just politically not too bright if you can’t figure this out.

Geez.
