I believe the war in Ukraine is not something The West should stake its future on.
Hitler lost his chance to hold on to his immoral gains when he attacked Russia.
All the western resources sucked into Ukraine are resources that cannot be used on America's southern border, in Taiwan, around Indonesia's Natuna Island or in Darwin or at the Pine Gap base in Central Australia.
It is a worry if 62% of registered Republicans will vote for the World War Three triggering possibility of over-tough responses to Putin's excesses. (https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4138508/posts)
But let us focus, as Tucker Carlson has done, (https://www.foxnews.com/media/republican-2024-hopefuls-respond-tucker-carlsons-questions-about-stance-russia-ukraine-war) on trying to find out the policy stances of those most likely to act in the interests of peace.
Who might be the current world's George Marshall?
Russia’s potential expansion will always be finite. The West’s exaggerated reaction is beyond suspect.
I agree.
An Aboriginal Anglican Vicar in Melbourne told his nervous parishioners that Ukraine is the birthplace of a church that’s very important to Putin. He said Putin doesn’t want more than that.
Finite.
But the demonisation of Putin seems to know no bounds.
No. Neither will ever be elected.
