Former President Donald Trump has now been arraigned and pleaded not guilty. He was represented by two lawyers, neither of whom he apparently wants to lead his defense at trial. He has been interviewing Florida lawyers, and several top ones have declined. I know, because I have spoken to them. There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.
There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers

I just pulled up the Martindale ratings for the area where I practice. At least seven highly rated (AV) attorneys passed away or retired several years ago, but they are still listed as practicing law.
The are seventeen peer reviews for me. Eight of the reviews are from judges and government lawyers, who gave me the highest rating (5 out of 5). These reviews are obviously not from rivals because we don’t compete for clients. The remaining nine reviews are from private practice attorneys some of whom are likely cross-town rivals. Seven of the reviews range from 4.7 to 5, but two of the reviews are 3.0. Based upon the dates of these two reviews, I am near certain they are big firm, Ivy League educated attorneys, who I had recently prevailed over in two complicated commercial arbitrations, in which I was not supposed to win. Martindale is a joke.

It sounds like you have a positive rating. My friend, a tax attorney, was brilliant. You basically stated what he told me.
Stars get terrible medical care because they are used to giving orders to people they hire. When they accidentally get a good doctor they usually fire him quickly because he doesn’t always do what they command.
I imagine it’s not easy being Donald Trump’s lawyer.
