seems a little high, I just bought a New work truck, Chevy Silverado 3500HD with service body for $64K out the door.
Ford has forgot the first rule of capitalism. The price you get for something is not the cost to create it but the demand for the item. Supply and demand determine price and right now there is a surplus (supply) of automobiles and trucks and little demand.
The second rule of capitalism:
If you lower the price enough you can sell anything. As you say the cost to the dealer is irrelevant. No customers cares about that.
If they hold out long enough, somebody will buy them .... in ten years a $95,000 price tag will seem cheap.
Most dealers go broke in a hurry with high inventory.
The bad news for them is most potential new car buyers can wait them out for a year or two....
U.S. vehicle sales fell modestly in November
U.S. vehicle sales fell 0.8% month-on-month (m/m) to 15.3 million (annualized) units in November โ coming in below consensus expectations for 15.5 million units.
Unadjusted sales volumes were 1.22 million units or 7.3% above year-ago levels. The average daily selling rate (DSR) was 48,746 โ calculated over 25 days โ up from November 2022’s 45,419 daily rate.
Passenger vehicle sales declined 2.4% year-on-year (y/y) while sales of light-trucks were up by 9.9% y/y. Light-trucks accounted for 81% of last month’s sales, slightly higher than its 79% share in November 2022.

She has some rust in non critical areas, but She’s built very strong. Bob Drake, Dennis Carpenter and Performance Online help out.
Like the university, government handed the auto makers a few trillion Nancybucks to operate under their rules.
And like the university, cars got expensive.
Now government will try to fix it with more government.
Sort by price, they start in the low 30s.
“has some rust in non critical areas”
Nowadays they’re calling that PATENA bro! And patena....is in. Lol!
You are correct and brief, making it easier to remember whom is the problem.
$95k for a truck is absolutely insane.
Thinking? Well, they’re thinking that’s the only thing they got that sells so truck buyers are keeping the rest of the company afloat. Been that way for decades. If they could just make a decent cccaaaarrrr?
Well, the environment kills everything eventually, but She’s a real warrior.
If your not familiar with the TV shows “roadkill” and “Roadworthy Rescues” you should check ‘em out.......you WILL be uplifted about the state of your pickup.
As a matter of fact, have one on me:

Our money is worthless. At the same time government mandates are adding 30% to the cost of a car. Double screw job.
In 1972 I was making $90 a week take home. But.....
health insurance was $9 biweekly
Bush long necks were $4 a case
Cigs were 35ยข a pack
A 10 pack of Copenhagen chew was $3.50
My half of a 2 bedroom apt was $75 month
$3-4 filled up my Datsun on Friday.
Other than more hi tech toys, I had just about as much as I do now.
Fiat currency is a government ponzi scheme and outright theft.
My late uncle said that he would take 1950 wages with 1950 prices anytime.
I recently checked. The “US DOllar” has been devalued by approximately an order of magnitude over my lifetime. That is to say, $1.00 has approximately the buying power of $0.10 “back then”. Granted, there are things I can buy today that didn’t exist “back then”, but comparing prices is a bit stupid.
$100,000 for a truck is insane...I don’t know how anyone affords one of these as well as a mortgage and is able to raise a family...my 20 year old truck is never going to be replaced....
$100,000 for a truck is insane..
Effin Finance It! The government will just bail them out when they default on the loans.
