You have to chuckle at the dumbasses lining up at these power stations. They take 3 times as long to charge and it’s only good for half the distance. Since it takes so long, you have people waiting literally 5 and 6 hours or more just to charge their car that will only go 1/3 the distance. These aren’t cheap cars either.
Went shopping all morning in sub zero weather and parked outdoors. No cold weather starting troubles either.
All the mileage etc stuff come from the lying government not the manufacturer
but your EV will only be dead during the coldest months of the year it will thaw out , maybe ,LOL

I’m no electrical engineer, but I know the basics. I could have told them that their stinkin’ batteries wouldn’t be much good in below-freezing temps. But they would not have listened to me.

Methane definiely comes from farts, so I think that it comes from the 7th planet. Which I will decline to name, LOL.
So either a room has to be heated that the car can be in to charge properly, or the battery has to use some power to keep itself warm. Either way we’re talking additional power requirements. BTW, if charging takes even just a half hour then people are going to want a place to chill. Every charging station should have a Starbucks or similar where both the people and their cars can enter.
Contrast that with where I live: north central Alabama in a somewhat rural/somewhat suburban area. The few EV owners here charge at home. The fast road-side chargers here are used only by travelers. Thus, those chargers have few people at them. Plus, the warm weather means the cold effect hardly happens here. Last but not least, because of our somewhat rural driving habits we tend to drive a lot more miles to go to town and back (making an EV worth considering since the gas savings might be worth the costs of an EV).
I would imagine right about now Elon Musk is banging his head against the wall.

You’re missing the point. They live in urban areas and have no intention of owning an EV. If they need a car ride, they intend to call for a shared ride service. They intend to fly for long trips. Consequently, the shortcomings of EV does not matter to them.
There is not much open after about 10:00 PM or so. I live at the cross roads of of I57/I74..
