The gatekeepers opened the gate and divided Western nations
The Hill reported, “Republican governors are backing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) in his standoff against the federal government over border authority.
“On Tuesday, the Texas National Guard appeared to ignore a Supreme Court decision and continued building razor wire barriers on the U.S.-Mexico border, preventing the federal Border Patrol from doing their jobs.
“In a statement Wednesday, Abbott justified the actions by claiming his authority to combat an invasion of the state supersedes federal law.
“GOP Govs. Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Ron DeSantis of Florida, Glenn Youngkin of Virginia and Brian Kemp of Georgia have all said they support Abbott’s actions.”
The Republican Governors Association later released a letter signed by 25 of the nation’s Republican governors backing Abbott

“...preventing the federal Border Patrol from doing their jobs...”
I didn’t see where the Biden administration was mentioned here......
“GOP Govs. Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Ron DeSantis of Florida, Glenn Youngkin of Virginia and Brian Kemp of Georgia have all said they support Abbott’s actions.”
The Republican Governors Association later released a letter signed by 25 of the nation’s Republican governors backing Abbott!:
From Now On:
Gov. Abbott, Please Send Every Illegal to Washington, D.C.!
He needs to focus his itineraries on the one place that matters most.
Abbott needs to stop busing migrants to Chicago, New York, Detroit, Denver, and other blue cities around the country and focus his itineraries on the one place that matters most.
Every single migrant who crosses into Texas ought to be collected and shipped to Washington, D.C.
Let the nation’s capital become the world’s largest migrant camp. Let the schools, hospitals, gymnasia, theaters, hotels, airports, train stations, police stations, fire stations, arenas, and government buildings be overrun with migrants to such an extent that nothing but their care can be accomplished. Turn every park in Washington into a tent city for Bolivians, Guatemalans, Chinese, and Pakistanis to litter, micturate, and defecate at their leisure within.
Shut down D.C. with illegal migrants. Bury it. Focus the suffering; trap it where the power brokers live. Make them so miserable that they scream for respite from the refugee camp their city has become.
Maybe then we’ll see some change.
What we know is that the ruling class, the out-of-touch, insufferable elite who populate that place, won’t stop inflicting pain until it’s inflicted on them. And not enough is getting to them. So bring it right to their doorstep.
Now. Faster.

Texas Places Razor Wire Around The Alamo For Final Stand Against Biden

States with Texas/Governor Abbott:
preventing the federal Border Patrol from doing their jobs.
—
I thought their job was to protect the border, not help illegals to invade our nation.
Classic in-your-face move by Gov. Abbott since the SC decision offered zero explanation or reason, but simply said feds “may” remove razor wire, throwing the hotter-than-hell potato back into Joe’s lap.
To do anything to counter the invasion pits him against 3/4+ of the citizenry.
Sadly, this hastens his exit from presidential sweepstakes.
"Don't underestimate Joe's ability to F things up."
I'm hoping that Eagle Pass, TX will be Obama's Armageddon.
The Texas National Guard is not preventing Border Patrol from doing their job Joe Biden is. In view of the fact that the president is not doing his job of seeing that the laws be faithfully executed Texas is left to fend for itself. If I was AG of Texas I’d issue an arrest warrant for Joe Biden for aiding an invasion of my state. The Dems and the Biden admin claim presidents don’t have immunity for their actions in office because if they did they could murder people (note to Dems Barack Obama already claimed that right). Lets see if the Dems really believe that.
The legal argument Biden’s lawyers made to the Supreme Court is that Texas, by constructing the razor wire barriers were blocking the federal government representatives from getting to the border and doing their jobs which is assigned to them under the Constitution.
This is the argument that swayed ACB. The problem is, once they “get to the border” they are escorting the illegals in under the guise of “arresting them” and then releasing them into the country. Thereby refuting their own argument that they need access to the border in order to defend the border.
Texas rightfully argues that this is NOT defending the borders and points to the Constitutional support that holds where the federal government does not defend the border the state has a legal right to do so by default. That is why 25 GOP governors (even squish deep state weasels like Ohio’s Mike DeWine) agree with the soundness of the legal position.
It is on-line in a detailed letter Abbott issued Wednesday. Brilliant argument.
Article 31. - Refugees unlawfully in the country of refuge
1. The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of article 1, enter or are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence.
2. The Contracting States shall not apply to the movements of such refugees restrictions other than those which are necessary and such restrictions shall only be applied until their status in the country is regularized or they obtain admission into another country. The Contracting States shall allow such refugees a reasonable period and all the necessary facilities to obtain admission into another country.
Article 32. - Expulsion
1. The Contracting States shall not expel a refugee lawfully in their territory save on grounds of national security or public order.
2. The expulsion of such a refugee shall be only in pursuance of a decision reached in accordance with due process of law. Except where compelling reasons of national security otherwise require, the refugee shall be allowed to submit evidence to clear himself, and to appeal to and be represented for the purpose before competent authority or a person or persons specially designated by the competent authority.
3. The Contracting States shall allow such a refugee a reasonable period within which to seek legal admission into another country. The Contracting States reserve the right to apply during that period such internal measures as they may deem necessary.

The Refugee Convention by permitting illegal entry (and entry upon any request) makes it impossible to secure the border. We need to get out from under the Refugee Convention.
Article 44 - Denunciation [getting out from under the Refugee Convention]
1. Any Contracting State may denounce this Convention at any time by a notification addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
2. Such denunciation shall take effect for the Contracting State concerned one year from the date upon which it is received by the Secretary-General of the United Nations....
NOTE: I do not trust any politician who has not called for invoking Article 44 to get the US out from under the Refugee Convention.
And my distrust extends to Trump and DeSantis.
The Refugee Convention must be removed from the Democratic Party toolbox by invoking Article 44. It does not serve a constitutionally authorized federal purpose. It is incompatible with “The United States shall...protect each of them against invasion” clause of Article IV, SECTION 4.
A treaty, like a law, can be unconstitutional.

From 1903 to present, following the Militia Act of 1903, the Texas Militia is legally empowered by Title 32 of the United States Code and Article 4, Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Texas to “execute the laws of the state, to suppress insurrections, and to repel invasions”. Operations are conducted under command of the Texas Military Department by the Texas Adjutant General.
From 1903 to present, some Texas Militia units are also subject to Title 10 of the United States Code, which legally empowers the United States government to mobilize them when more resources are needed than available in the United States Armed Forces for war, national emergency, or national security. Operations are conducted under command of the United States Department of Defense by the Secretary of Defense.

I’m starting to see the media pivoting to discredit Abbot’s interpretation of the Constitution, especially regarding the meaning of the word invasion. For the purpose of informing this discussion, here’s the definition from Merriam-Webster:
invasion
noun
in·va·sion in-ˈvā-zhən
Synonyms of invasion
1
: an act of invading
especially : incursion of an army for conquest or plunder
2
: the incoming or spread of something usually hurtful
While it MAY be arguable whether or not the situation in Texas meets the first definition, it clearly meets the second. Why else are all the Democrat sanctuary cities and states complaining about all the illegal aliens Texas is sending their way? Because the situation is harmful, obviously.
And there’s no requirement in constitutional law to use only the first definition of a word.
