Pistol Checked into Luggage Disappears in Atlanta Airport

As tens of millions of Americans routinely carry guns when they travel, some are bound to be stolen by thieves.  A passenger who recently traveled through Atlanta believes he is the victim of such a theft. From fox5atlanta.com:

“I said, ‘What happened?’ She said, ‘Your bag is delayed.’ I said, ‘What do you mean, delay?’ She said, ‘It didn’t make the flight.;”

The gun owner says a helpful Delta agent in Fort Lauderdale told him the airline map indicated the gun was still in Atlanta.

But once he returned to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday, that story changed.

“He goes to type the number in, now it says the gun was never checked in. Not even through Delta, or TSA,” he said. “So, somebody took it out of the system. What do you mean it’s ghost?”

Stealing a gun at an airport is a bad idea. There are cameras everywhere. Baggage is closely monitored and tracked by tag number. This correspondent has traveled with firearms dozens of times without a problem. Consider the Biden appointee who stole women’s luggage for some weird fetish. They were caught on camera and tracked down.  One author recommends checking a gun in your luggage as a security measure.

Guns stolen at airports make for a high-profile case. The owner of the custom pistol missing in Atlanta checked the firearm correctly, and watched as it went through TSA processing. It is difficult to erase records of this activity without leaving traces behind. My prediction is the person will eventually have his firearm found and returned.

The most common problem at airports with guns happens when a few of the tens of millions of people who routinely travel armed forget a carry gun in their carry-on luggage.

Few guns are stolen from luggage at airports, because the guns are tracked and make high profile cases.

Atlanta is full of thieves. I don’t send my daughter anything through the US Mail anymore because it gets stolen.

“Stealing a gun at an airport is a bad idea. There are cameras everywhere”.

LOL-—like that matters at all with our corrupt government. Guaranteed the only person being investigated is the rightful gun owner.

From the article:

The owner of the custom pistol missing in Atlanta checked the firearm correctly, and watched as it went through TSA processing.

...And the response from a clerk when the weapon does not show up:

“He goes to type the number in, now it says the gun was never checked in. Not even through Delta, or TSA,” he said. “So, somebody took it out of the system. What do you mean it’s ghost?”

The thief will be somebody working for TSA in combination with a baggage handler.

Not the first time this has happened in Atlanta.

My guess is, they may find who took it, but won’t retrieve the gun.

Georgia is a dump hole State now. Any self-respecting State would not allow the foul fat ugly Fani Willis to destroy their legal system as she is being allowed to.

Completely pathetic.

Boycott Georgia!

Jewelry too. Can't trust TSA/government workers. Just another reason to limit air travel when possible.

Was thinking of an Alaska cruise or vacation but can’t get there without traveling through a blue state or Canada or flying.

My travel days are clearly behind me now.

Praying for revival in our nation and a major MAGA Victory this fall!

I worked at the TSA in Orlando for four miserable months. The women were nothing but entitlement queens. My male co-workers, on the average, tended to be as sweet as anything and just looking to be in a decent job with bennies. They tended to be nicer to the flyers, as well.

In Orlando, I don’t think much was stolen anymore (I had a friend who told stories of how in the early days ‘confiscated’ items were diffied up like plundered bounty, especially large bottles of expensive alcohol.)

Again, I was reprimanded numerous times for being too friendly. Read that again — I was fired for being polite to the travelers. We were actually TOLD to be as rude as possible and to treat the traveling public like prisoners. I couldn’t do it.

I quit because I couldn’t take it anymore. I’m back in Exceptional Student Education in the public schools. More rewarding, and the kids are amazing and loveable. Actually, Gen Ed kids, by and large, can be pretty cool.

If you didn't mind the cost, you could ship it to your destination over night via FedEx....

I knew a guy who was an avid golfer and he would ship his clubs to wherever he was going via FedEx prior to leaving for the trip.

“I put CASH in a letter in a mail box, inside the Atlanta Georgia airport..the letter and cash never made it to my bank.”

With all due respect my friend, that’s not a wise thing to do ANYWHERE.

I’m trying to break my wife of paying bills by mailing a check.

More than once the payment never arrived.
