My neighbor's dog brought home a human skull, what

Posted on 09/27/2004 12:19:18 PM PDT by jilley

should I do? We live out in the country and the dog brought it home a few weeks ago. She says she wants to keep it for decoration and it is now stuck on her fence post. When I take her the paper every day, it creeps me out. Her dog is always leaving deer horns in my yard also, so it must be out there killing deer and breaking their horns off.

I cannot believe you two aren't in here yet.

It also has more than its fair share of kooks and weirdos.

I guess this is a bad time to swap recipes.

In all seriousness, it's best to contact the authorities. Someone may have lost a loved one and this could bring them some peace finally.

My neighbor's dog brought home a human skull, what should I do?

"I say, vote for me, John F. Kerry, for President. I am solidly against the finding of human skulls by dogs, as well as the sticking of those skulls on fence posts for decoration. It is one of the primary planks of my platform. I have only one message on the finding of human skulls by dogs and the use of those human skulls for fence post decoration: wrong find, wrong dog, wrong post, wrong decoration.

George W. Bush has a secret plan to leave human skulls where every dog in your neighborhood can find them. Soon, all of your neighbors will have human skulls as decorations on their fence posts, and then where will this country be?

I will sit down with the U.N. and all of the other nations of this world, and we will form a united coalition against dogs finding skulls and neighbors using them as decorations on fence posts. And I promise, in 2 years, there will be no more human skulls anywhere for any dog to find and take home to be used as decoration on a fence post.

I was in Vietnam."

Freerepublic has lawyers and other professionals that might offer some good advice.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that you don't need advice from a lawyer or other professional regarding a human skull dragged home by a dog. So you've known your neighbor for 25 years - that doesn't negate the fact that this find needs to be reported. Maybe you can convice your neighbor to report it, that it could be a homicide, suicide or missing person. It's important! I'd also tell her that if she doesn't report it, that you will. Someone could be wondering what happened to their loved one, and that loved one's head is on your neighbor's fence post!

You don't have to be so mean

Mean? Sheez, this should be a no-brainer.

I find it hard to just call the police on her

The former occupant of that skull has family and friends who have been going bonkers for months if not years wondering what happened to that person. Screw your neighbor's feelings, think of THEIRS.

Goodness. You wouldn't help her get rid of a body if she asked you would you? Might want to mention to her she is probably breaking the law for not reporting it.

Just don't tell the police that she wants to put it on her fence. They don't need to know that if you don't want to get your neighbor in trouble. Just report the find - they will investigate.

You know, I have seen some weird $hit on FR from time to time, but this has catapulted to the top of the list.

I have checked out your posting history, and this is your first post in 2.5 years, and one of only a few dozen posts since signing up back in 2001.

Seriously, you have to ask us what you should do about a human skull you neighbor found? Good God. Are you out of your mind, just like your neighbor? Skulls on fenceposts? You are either an incredibly creative troll, or a complete idiot.

No offense.

It is very unlikely that the dog is "Killing Deer". Male deer drop their horns in the spring. As to the skull,it is a crime in most states to possess human remains. CALL THE COP'S!!!

she is very nice and I took care of here when her husband up and left her 10 years ago.

So you have been getting a decade of action and now are worried about losing it if you call the cops.

I was being sarcastic! But hey, maybe I am right.

I have known her for 25 years and she is a wonderful person.

Well, have a talk with her. Explain it could be a missing person someone cares about and ask her to call the cops and the part about her putting it on the fencepost can be just between you, her and the internet.

If she refuses you really have to bite the bullet & do it.
