My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Well, er.. um.. Yes..
My best friend (later step-daughter) and I wore the same size in clothing on the dot.
(Except for shirts, obviously.)
Well, I was wearing a hunter green shirt, turtle neck, and military boots with hairy legs sticking out of the hem of a blue pleated miniskirt.
(Shoulda been a Kilt!)
The sales lady wandered up and asked if she could assist.
(Hairy legs weren't a tipoff?)
I said "YES! I would like to purchase this item!"
She looked like she was going to have a stroke, and held a hand to the side of her head.
And then asked me to leave..

What can I say, I have a rather twisted sense of humor.
The kind of humor where I'd ride in the trunk of a car with fake blood on my arm as it dangles out the trunk hatch...
...and shakes someone's hand when they come to investigate.

The prize of satisfaction in knowing the answer.

Who is this??
"I was thought to be 'stuck up.' I wasn't. I was just sure of
myself. This is and always has been an unforgivable quality
to the unsure."
HINT: Tart-tongued and independent, She was one of America's
biggest movies stars in the years surrounding World War II.
In 1938 she won another Oscar for Jezebel.
To: bentfeather
I seem to want to say Hedy Lamar, but I know that is not correct.

Oh! bentfeather, Queen of all goodness,
a question arises.
Is political satire in poem and song tolerated in the sweetness and light of the Dragonflies Lair?
if so, is it then encouraged?

Paths
The path to heaven is long and sweet,
burning under my stumbling feet.
A path leading left another right,
I turn and find the dead of night.
The Lord is near whenever I fall,
no need for me to even call.
He lifts me up to help me stay right.
I feel His love His warmth so bright.
The path to heaven is shorter and sweet,
For God is there to steady my feet.
