National Treasure it is NOT!

Posted on 11/29/2004 12:37:12 PM PST by BereanBrain

I believe National Treasure implies that Freemasons are a POSITVE influence on our country.

Anybody that knows the TRUTH about Freemasonry rather than the propaganda they wrap themselves in will NOT be takin in by the positive portrayal in this movie.

Please America, wake up, don't buy into the guys who brought "Seperation of Church/State" to America, model ISLAM as the highest truth (the Shriners), label the Holy Bible as "Furinture" in a lodge, and outlaw the name of "Jesus" in any lodge.

I know I will get flamed by 10,000 Masons and Mason supporters on this, but if you want to know the TRUTH read what was the only book given to EVERY mason until just recently - MORALS AND DOGMA by Albert Pike. it is 800 pages, but the truth about masonry can be found from their own lips.

BTW, Albert Pike is the BIG man in Masonry in the US - and he just also happened to found the KKK. Again, using religion to achieve his social purposes.

Yeah, they might find out that they some things in common with people who don't follow the dogma they get in church every Sunday, and might even like them! Dogs hanging out with cats, etc. Their little world might just get turned upside down.

the catholic church also for centuries banned the teachings of Gallelio for heresy. with their record of tolerance and understanding ("kill them all - let God sort them out", the inquisition, etc.) i wouldn't be puching cathlolicism as a model of charitibla behavior.

their dislike for freemasonry is less based upon tolerance, and more upon the bad history between some masonic groups and their refusal to cede their treasuries to the church.

Do you mean there is no one alive who has heard of it? Are you a ghost? I just talked to a 32nd degree mason who has never heard of it.

Psssshaw. A 32nd Degree? Harrump. I wouldn't expect a piddly low-ranking 32nd Degree mason to know anything that really goes on in the Upper Secret Levels...

I've have never seen either, so I'll take your two cents worth for it. (little pun there)

When I watch a movie though, pure entertainment is exactly what I seek.

Gullible are the people who believe EITHER side without checking it out!

Just read a copy of MORALS and DOGMA by Albert Pike and you won't believe your eyes.

Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith

It has been asked whether there has been any change in the Church's decision in regard to Masonic associations since the new Code of Canon Law does not mention them expressly, unlike the previous code. This sacred congregation is in a position to reply that this circumstance is due to an editorial criterion which was followed also in the case of other associations likewise unmentioned inasmuch as they are contained in wider categories.

Therefore, the Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic associations remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and, therefore, membership in them remains forbidden.

The faithful, who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion. It is not within the competence of local ecclesiastical authorities to give a judgment on the nature of Masonic associations which would imply a derogation from what has been decided above, and this in line with the declaration1 of this sacred congregation issued Feb. 17,1981.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger
Prefect

Father Jerome Hamer, O. P.
Titular Archbishop of Lorium Secretary

1 In an audience granted to the undersigned cardinal prefect, the Supreme Pontiff John Paul II approved and ordered the publication of this declaration which had been decided in an ordinary meeting of this sacred congregation. Rome, from the Office of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Nov. 26, 1983

George Washington, Ben Franklin and other founder's membership in the Masons is a matter of historical fact. Like it or not.

Hey, Chad, be sure and not divulge any of our plans to rule the world, by eliminating the Catholic Church, OK?

I think that was the stonecutters (from the simpsons) - definitely a spoof on the huge amount or propagandizing that goes on regarding the free masons. I had a relative (step-grandfather) pass away a year ago that was a member of the free masons. Nothing about any of his ideals were suspect in my eyes. As far as I could tell, their beliefs were based on the bible's teachings and a strong (read steadfast) belief in God.

I find it hard to connect the dots between the KKK and the free masons, even if a the KKK was supposedly founded by a member of the free masons.

All of us christians at the funeral thought it was ridiculous that the pastor at their church refused to marry my g-ma in law and my step-grandfather all because he was a member of the free masons. In the end, he did a service and delivered a eulogy - in the presence of the free masons in attendance. G-ma has been a long standing member of the church, and was quite hurt by the pastor's actions.

Since you like to throw stones at the Catholic church, why don't you also smear the Baptists, Methodist, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Church of England, etc - ALL of which have denouced Masonry as incompatible with Christianity?

Go ahead, I know you can do it....
