Don't trust chariots or horses, or Bush brothers, or GOP; they let Terri die and Michael thrive

Judge Greer has accomplished a coup: He commandeered local cops to repel a state agency (Family and Children Services) and Jeb's state police.

And what happens to him for usurping extra-judicial authority? nothing. He's allowed to continue the killing process, with a bizarre zeal to see Terri Schiavo die.

Michael will be rid of her, and recipient, likely of book and TV movie deals, from a Hollywood that is pushing assisted suicide as the cause du jour.

Greer thumbs nose at Congress; what happens? Nothing.

The man shows signs of lunacy - - - is he fiddling with metal balls, like Bogart in Caine Mutiny? What happens to him? Nothing.

He should be impeached, but the other day Jeb had respectful words for him. What gives?

Bottom line: Put not your trust in princes - even if they have R after their name. you can't count on them. They've betrayed Terri, and they'll betray you. Gather your family round you and make them the center of your universe, and defend them with your life. The politicians are not your defenders, and not your friends. Ask Terri Schiavo, before her murder is finished.

Nonsense!

Thje law was on Michael Schiavo's side, even if the moral right wasn't.

The only people who could have saved her was the Florida House/Senate.

Not Jeb Bush
Not President Bush
Not a judge

Only a new law could save her and the Gov/President don't make the laws. Jeb Bush put up a new law for a vote and it didn't pass so don't lay it at his feet !

For someone that has supposedly been here since 1998 you should know this isn't the place for your vanity.

You show no respect for authority,"""

"Authority" implies lawful use of power. Greer is using his power unlawfully -- without "authority." If I've given you the impression I don't have respect for that, I've done by job.

Good post. I'm outta the Republican Party. George Greer is a Republican. Jeb Bush is a Republican. 'Nough said.

We did as much as we could"""

Not so. This case is about public opinion. Public opinion has been manipulated by a lying media. W. Bush could have made a speech telling the truth about Terri's condition and what is being done to her to kill her, and the scoundrel Michael. Instead Bush throws off a pathetic line about "erring on side of life" -- an apologetic suggestion that helping Terri is an "error" -- and then he goes and hides in a rabbit hole. That's not leadership. That's not using presidential bully pulpit. That's not EDUCATING the American people about a life-or-death issue - euthanasia and the death merchants - that transcends the Terri Schiavo case. Bush is a poll-driven politicians. Can you name me ONE position he has ever taken that was at odds with the polls? I honestly don't know of one. Unlike Reagan, who followed his instincts, polls be damned. I miss Reagan. God how I miss Reagan.

Three weeks ago, if you even intimated that the Republican party might not be the only way to achieve conservative goals, you would have been team-slapped. I've been watching the commentary, and the polls, on the Schiavo tragedy, and it seems your reaction is getting more and more common. I personally believe that Jeb and George demonstrated enormous cowardice in this exchange. I believe the issue itself has strengthed an unaccountable and tyrannical judiciary. It has also highlighted the moral depravity of a very large share of the American people.

There is much work to be done.

I love attacks like this - it demonstrates the best values of the liberals. Why not blame the county sheriff, or the county DA, both for not filing attempted murder charges? Why not the federal courts, the 11th, the Supremes? The Florida legislature gets a free ride from you, yet you're blaming a pair of brothers.

The party exit is over there.
